For those wondering, this is totally run of the mill and the reason that maintenance is supposed to regularly run/flush eye wash stations and safety showers. edit- ok maybe not quite that nasty, but yeah it'll be brown if you don't run it occasionally

If you need to wash off dangerous chemicals you have to remediate all that water as hasmat rather than general grey/blackwater.

I feel like there's a better option that takes a middle ground between "Drains water laced with dangerous chemicals into city sewer" and "Drains water laced with dangerous chemicals directly onto the concrete or or linoleum floor at a time when people might be rushing around the eyewash station."

ideally it'll be in a passive containment spot where it'll pool and not spread at random. if it drains into a tank you still have to decon the tank which is its own set of challenges and dangers
