Man, SamuraiTV did the 2/1 BJW show rotten, it's 30 minutes less than normal, barely even worth bothering with the opening part of the card. I'm 40 minutes in & it's the co-main event. Which hopefully means Okabayashi vs Kamitani is relatively unedited

Just checked this out, Unagi's new look is ultra cool like someone out of a recent indie sci-fi comic or Citizen Sleeper. Yukari looks like the hardass gimmick I thought she'd become when she first decamped to GLEAT from ChocoPro

Jake Lee was always one of my favorites from Day 1. Never understood the misgivings about his stuff. Good on him for looking for greener pastures if he knew he wasn't going to be booked very well.

That El Lindaman main event posted a few days back for the G-Rex title was pretty boss. Guess they have a new follower. :burger:

I am physically & mentally incapable of understanding why Dragongate is so off in its own world. It's just lucharesu. Like, if you enjoy non-UWF GLEAT you'll enjoy DG, considering so much of its roster is ex-DG guys. It's just really well executed, (mostly) high flying exciting action, with big bold personalities & quite a lot of talking. It's just so bizarre. Wrestling is wrestling?

Weekly schedule time. I may have made some errors because my hands are really cold right now & I want to be in a room that isn't this one to actually warm up, so no time for checking it all. The standout show of the week is New Japan vs NOAH, which should be fun if inessential. Other than that? NOAH have another in the long line of Keiji Mutoh retirement series, this time with Sting & Darby Allin on Muta's side. New Japan start the New Beginning tour & I got to write Just 4 Guys a lot & every time I did it made me smile so that's promising. I'm far more excited for the All Japan show though, personally speaking. Kento & Nomura vs Nomura & Aoyagi is exactly what I want from All Japan & I have high expectations. It's 4 of the best wrestlers in the world. I mean, poo poo, one side has my #1 & #9 wrestlers of 2022, the other has my #3 & a guy who would have made it if he had more matches (he had only 21 & a few of those were places like Capture & Real Blood produce shows that are hard to find)

pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
I personally thought it was quite funny that the Dragon Gate rookie that people are hyping for WON Rookie of the Year (who I admittedly have not seen a match from; I'm not a Dragon Gate person) didn't place in the top 20 of the Rookie of the Year vote: finishing behind the comedian that worked a single match (Fuwa-chan), a distinctly average Stardom rookie (Miyu Amasaki), a part-time wrestler/porn star (Chanyota) and a rookie from Secret Base that probably has been seen by less than 100 people total. Indeed the top Dragon system rookie on this was... the guy that dropped out and went to DDT instead. This clearly must mean that they actually aren't that good and are being vigorously overhyped...

A lot of fans fell off when CIMA & Shingo left. The attendance records for big PPVs were almost halved after the OWE split, and then a lot of the old mainstays have been retiring. They're on the rise though, fortunately. D'courage are a proven draw and the excursions have been really getting guys like SB KENTo noticed.

From what I've gathered, that's why they're still considered #2 in Japan behind NJPW - they're a much bigger draw nationwide and they tour relentlessly, while most of the top promotions are mainly draws in Tokyo and a handful of other major cities.
