It's just straight-up an AI upscaled PSP port. I mean, we all knew that... but I'm still disappointed. Not even a pity throwing in "The Answer" dungeon(s) and rejigging the cutscene for THAT to at least try to differentate and sate those of us that wanted FES/the definitive version over this. At least it's $20 and gives me Steam achievements, I guess?

Welp gonna give the P3P switch port a go Anything I should know going in? Is this the one where social links can decay and break? Also, from what I can gather, I should pick the girl if I want to max my social links and have no interest in a harem, yeah?

Yeah, in P3 Social Links can decay and Reverse, though IIRC it's mostly (only?) the romantic ones. The romantic ones decay the more time you spend without seeing them, and you also lose a chunk whenever you see another romantic Link, even if you haven't reached the actual "romantic" part of the Link. Also, all female Social Links except Maiko, "Maya", and Aigis are automatically romantic, there's no platonic option like in later games. If you want a harem you're going to have to be a manwhore. Though I suppose you could treat it as serial dating, not parallel, and that's probably the optimal way to do it, completing one romantic Social Link before starting any others.

Male protagonist is required to either stop at 9 or enter a romance (or at least was in FES, I never got that far in the PSP one when it came out)

Is there an "official" name for the female protagonist in persona 3? And is it better than "Midori Mori" which is the name I came up with. Mori means forest in Japanese, but death in Latin. Midori means (among other things) fresh life, so the name kind of means "fresh life leading into death" if you read the first part as Japanese and the last part as Latin.

There's a bunch of unverified rumors that Atlus is doing a proper remake of P3 with QoL updates, etc. I personally will not believe it until i see it. I dunno, it seems like a dumb business decision to port P3P and then remake it a few years later. Then again, some of the rumors claim that FeMC/Kotone isn't getting into the remake, so maybe having a P3P port is Atlus's compromise to have a game with her on modern consoles.

The comics that came out in 2010 called her "Minako" and that's what I've been calling her since. Apparently she was given a "canon" name later but it took four years, I'm not changing.

Just gigglin at the scene of Akane being introduced to Joe Kerr and musing that he has the exact same silhouette as the infamous Joker and then brushing it off.
