Supposedly SJ is asking for 3+ first round picks and magnanimously offering to retain as much as 10% so no, there's not yet any indication he's going anywhere. They'd probably rather keep him around so there's one player fans have heard of to put a picture of on the ads, they have to spend to the floor anyway.

BTW all the McDavid getting abused stuff is dumb. Dude rarely gets hit and never gets hurt or at least plays through literally everything outside of a broken collar bone and a torn PCL that he can heal himself. He doesn't need any sort of protecting (no NHL player does).
