He will continue to get paid the exact same he would as if he was still working on the show but won't have to actually do anything. If he's no longer credited as co creator in the intro than he got paid a poo poo ton of money on top of that. The severing ties line is complete bullshit if the show is still being made. Hell, he'll actually most likely still have EP rights on it if he wants to exercise them.
