People and dogs are very similar. You are fooling yourself if you don't think operant and classical conditioning of human beings is normal and good. Heck I would recommend doing that poo poo to yourself. An example of operant conditioning is praising somebodies good posts and criticizing their bad ones.

There's also a grim history of aba being used as a pretense to abuse kids, especially kids who don't have the communicative tools to express being abused. The board of behavior analysts routinely raise their licensing clinical requirements like every 3 years because some licensed shithead does another terrible thing. aba is also the foundation for like 75% of instructional techniques any given teacher uses. Like: ask kid to practice a skill, praise them for practicing a skill, rinse and repeat. It is a lot like how we train dogs!

Basically any time you reward a kid for doing something you're using operant conditioning via behavior reinforcement. I've seen special ed teachers do crazy abusive poo poo that flies in the face of established research and practice and also do crazy abusive poo poo pretending it's supposed to be research based But there's a shortage of sped teachers iirc and it takes time to fire them!
