Part of the problem was since it was a tier 1 deck you had people picking up the deck and trying to play it without enough practice. As you got more practice with the deck, you could go off more reliably and find a loop more easily. I also think it's a cool story that the components were all there for a year or so after Aether Revolt came out before the deck came together, and Matt Nass basically single-handedly made it a mainstream deck by dominating GPs

Anyone have any display setups they like for cards they don't intend to play with, and just have because they look cool? I was nervous about this when I ordered it, but I think it looks pretty good for these cards. I'm happier with this than I thought it would be, I think I can convince my partner to do the same for her Junji Ito cards.

Scrolling through the list of all lands today and I really think they should ban basic lands or make them legendary. They're OP and warp every meta. So many really cool land cards nobody ever plays because basic lands are just better. Who is going to play Nomad Stadium in a format where Plains exists?

They should take hisorically bad cards and make new cards meant to be combos with them. Like yeah noones actually gonna do it but itd just be funny to be like "here is the one artifact/enchantment/creature that is meant to be used with this lovely card from 1998"
