Bethesda doesn't make video games. They make mountainous terrain engines that serve as mod platforms. The campaigns that ship with them are basically just demos.

Skyrim is the example project that comes with Bethesda RPG Maker 11. Joke's on me for thinking that the True Directional Movement mod would make combat tolerable. There's no modding this into a good game, just play one that was made by competent designers to begin with.

That whole thing should have been selectable from the menu instead.

people say mobas are the worst games but it's online shooters that are the worst, just thousands of people running around in COD and pubG violently gunning down each other, say what you want about league of legends but it looks pretty and has anime waifus, not just senseless violence on repeat all day

I just finished up The Banner Saga 3. Cool series. It doesn't necessarily knock it out of the park but it has a rad style, some excellent music and some really good ideas. I'm glad it exists and I'm glad I finally checked out the sequels. I did enjoy the gameplay but I don't think it was meaty enough to last 3 games, even as they tried to add new mechanics. That definitely lead to the games getting weaker as it went on, but I think the writing and the role playing was strong throughout and it told a good, complete fantasy story.

IMO the RPG underneath kinda sucks the same as FFVI. Its pretty easy to thrash the regular game but its like twenty hours of grinding to figure out KOTR, and then its sitting around for 20 minutes watching that cutscene play over and over against Emerald Weapon FF7s minigames are way better than FFVI though. Kinda seems like the big difference between the later FFs is the quality of their minigames

I've gotten in the habit of alt-f4ing for every pc game (after saving!) because they keep doing stupid stuff like only putting the quit game button on the main menu which you have to wait though a loading screen to visit
