I understand the basic infrantry dudes having that combo because otherwise they aren't threatening at all, but DS3 feels like it has an inordinate amount of enemies that try to combo you to death. I have nightmares about those stupid goat things in the swamp.

Usually if an enemy in DS3 has a flurry attack they can be hit out of it. You need to make them "whiff" and then "punish" them which will allow you to get "frame advantage" so you can then use a high damage attack. My fav part of the souls game is how fighting game like it is, including the wiki even just having the frame data of all the attacks in the game

Also those huge fuckers in the swamp that summoned all those skulls sucked too. Aside from those and a few others the combat was great.

Is there an in-world explanation for how straightjacket Isaac opens doors? (I guess it's unclear how he opens them every other time too). Should I be playing at the Survivalist difficulty? I'm not looking for too much of a challenge right now, but I don't want it to be a cake walk.

They nerfed poise pretty heavily in DS3, it really only matters for enemy NPCS, and the high poise ones are visually distinct from normal enemies (they are either giant or wear a lot of armor)

Just dropping in and drive by posting to say that I’m replaying Ghost of Tsushima on PlayStation and man what an incredible game. At this point, the only thing I think would make it better is if after you beat the game, you could replay any of the missions at any time by selecting them from the mission journal, just like how you can replay individual forts after you beat the game by highlighting them on the map and selecting the replay option. I suppose if the game really wanted to get fancy, it could also allow players to equip the MMO-ish multiplayer outfits and extra weapon flash graphics in single player mode too. I never played much of Dead Space 2 even though I loved the original. I didn’t play it at release so I bought the PC version years later but all the DLC was baked in, I couldn’t figure out how to turn it all off and having all that extra gear at the start kinda soured me so I never went back to it. The console version should be free of all that right? Maybe I’ll play that instead of spending $70 on a remake
