Yeah, no it won't, but enjoy your lukewarm and maybe slightly sticky cheese

I was not sure which end of the tomato pie scale Alabama was gonna end up on, but those all look solid.

If you think of tomato pie (in this sense) as bad pizza then you're the one loving up. It's a savory pie, like a quiche

The story with the unmelted cheese, according to the supposed inventor, is that his customers were literally too stupid to wait for their pizza to cool and would burn their mouths on hot cheese, so he started to layer cold cheese on top to protect his clientele from their own toddler-like lack of survival instinct.

Like I wouldn't call them pizza, but they looks legit good. Had plenty of quiches and best ones usually have generous helpings of tomatoes in/on them.

I believe it's Philly that has a "tomato pie" that is actually pizza. Just bread and sauce I think.

Not sure why that is since pizza is essentially a cheese delivery system with some condiments.

It's like a survivor of those 60s Chef Boyardee "pizza mixes" where the cheese was an afterthought sprinkled on from a little packet, like more than a tsp of cheese would give you nightmares and dropsy

I've been thinking about this enough that I got the version my local place makes tonight. It has thousand island sauce, mozzarella & cheddar, bacon & ground beef, pickles, and a cheese sauce drizzle on top. It's super good, especially because I swapped out the bacon this time to make it less salty. Turns out mushrooms also work well on it, maybe they'll go on a Big Mac too?

Well now I gotta go to my local one when they bring back the mushroom burger and see if they'll do it for me.

The inception of Ohio valley pizza may make it the most authentically American style of all despite not being eaten nationwide

The cold cheese I understand; something about the grating process makes eating uncooked mozzarella extra delicious. Who doesn’t enjoy sampling a bit of cheese during the preparation process? Perhaps ironically however I feel putting unheated slices of pepperoni on the served product is a bridge too far

I love shredded cheese and cold pepperoni, I just don't want them anywhere near a nice hot slice. Mixing temperatures like that doesn't work at all for me.
