I've seen it mentioned but nothing about prep-- what is the GBS Ægg opinion on Scotch eggs? I have a family recipe I've used for years and it's something I think I'm pretty good at.

I used to live near a deli that specialised in scotch eggs only including tiny quails egg ones and they were all so loving delicious but COVID killed the store so I haven't had one in years.

Even though I had heard the term before, somehow I didn’t actually know what a Scotch egg was.

Now I must have one (or many).

Scotch Egg. Good Egg. I think of them as a breakfast sandwich without the cheese. The muffin/biscuit/toast is replaced with breading.

They take a good amount of prep time but it's nothing too hard and it's always worth it. If you have an air fryer it's an absolute game changer.

Take ægg

Take sausage

Wrap egg in sausage like blanket

Roll comfy blanketed egg in breadcrumbs and seasoning

Bake or fry

I can add more detail if anybody wants. drat now I wish I had some ground sausage so I could make some.

Gotta agree. I like a chewy, thick slice of bacon as much as the next person, but a nice pork sausage patty is so much easier to fry up and has a lot of versatility

I got 5 dozen eggs from Costco thinking it was 2 dozen and when I picked up the box I realized my mistake so I guess I'm eating a lot of eggs

If it's between sausage and bacon then I almost always go sausage unless I really have a craving for bacon.

Eggs are about $7 a dozen at all the stores around me :(

But that's probably my fault for not going to Costco...

We spend the extra $$ on vital farms eggs. It's somewhere around $7.50-8.50/dozen.
Gotta get the picture and bio for hen of the month. Also the yolks are much more orange.

Yeah I used to get those but my store hasn’t carried them for a while. Maybe folks were too upset by the orange yolks.
