Goodrich and the industry.[30] In 1972, Maltoni, another Italian researcher for the European vinyl chloride industry, found liver tumors (including angiosarcoma) from vinyl chloride exposures as low as 250 ppm for four hours a day.

According to the EPA, "vinyl chloride emissions from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene dichloride (EDC), and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plants cause or contribute to air pollution that may reasonably be anticipated to result in an increase in mortality or an increase in serious irreversible, or incapacitating reversible illness. Vinyl chloride is a known human carcinogen that causes a rare cancer of the liver."

To be fair, most of it's not going to survive burning, and instead will become cool compounds like phosgene. An actual chemical weapon.

To be completely clear here, Norfolk Southern Railway committed a chemical weapons attack on Ohio and poisoned this town by deferring maintenance and overworking labor.

The compass bearings of the photos are all screwy in the area. There's another group of fewer palms to the north of that photo but there's also another photo from the area in 2014 that makes me think those houses might be way to close to whatever happened.

I had to prune most my "make goofy stuff" youtube subscriptions because I hate the way the way they ignore basic safety, thus encouraging their largely young viewer base to also treat it frivolously. Furze seems to refuse to wear even the most basic safety gear, maybe because it'd ruin his ~aesthetic~, and it's infuriating. Just wear a loving helmet.

The clifs in that part of the coast are all built up from barely compressed sand and cobbles. It's only the dry climate that keeps them from just melting into nothing - but when we get storms this stuff happens.

An OSHA aspect to it is the fact that a couple sections of the rail line between San Diego and LA were built right on the edge of the cliffs and get undercut and shut down pretty often. Between normal erosion and the rising sea level, those tracks only have a few years left in them, but nobody can commit to a plan for moving them.

We're probably going to see an Amtrak slide into the sea in the next few years.
