i too bought cyberpunk after watching edgerunners it's not a bad game but i do kind of regret my decision, as i have better things to spend my time on and too little time to spend. i found that the game was good until the moment i developed any kind of expectation at which point it would consistently disappoint me

the cyberpunk game is fine but it was maybe a bad idea to promise the world they were making the ultimate epic unlimited cyberpunk open world rpg and then just make a pretty functional loot shoot rpg with easily broken mechanics the standard linear cinematic story with small branches

I mean it's no visual novel where you accidentally walk in on someone in the shower and then they yell Yaaaaaaaaaah. Game is good. Buy the game, enjoy Keanu Reeves being a dick for several hours. Buy it on sale if you're hesitant. Embrace the eurojank.

i had a lot of fun with cyberpunk and its open world wasn't really uniquely useless. but it is a bit of a disappointing game since a lot more could have been done with it without the deadlines

Thankfully VNs usually don't have these and if they're older just have really weird / funny sex scenes. Still have to lol over Nasu's every time I remember them

not that the original prose behind those is particularly genius but i think it's the early 2000s fan tl quality that pushes them into being so funny going to lament the official english release of the 2000s yuri vn akai ito where the new tl probably won't have massive tl notes added inside the dialog boxes explaining what the word "ryouma" means, or randomly have a character exclaim "here i am with the orthodox shredded onion... where is the persuasive power!"

I think there's a retranslation project going on for FSN and while Mirror Moon's translation is a pretty foundational work, it definitely could stand for an update.
