Get bashed, platonist!

I'm seeing into the future now. A self-driving car has just killed its owner by t-boning a car driving on David Brown Blvd. because someone created a Reddit bot with the username idbrownbl to alert the members of his 3-member subreddit whenever Rick and Morty is airing on Adult Swim.

I'm not about to get into self driving cars for a variety of reasons. But let's not pretend the human brain's ability to learn and recall relationships is perfect when God still hasn't patched the bug that flips your spatial sense of the gas pedal with the brake pedal.

I've been using the cheapest paid sub for that voice generator to make fake answering machine messages left by famous fictional characters, like Gandalf trying to get ahold of Bilbo to talk about the ring, Captain Picard leaving a complaint to building management about noisy neighbors. If you keep them short (just a few sentences) they can be indistinguishable from the real people.

Do any of these audio synthesis companies offer a giant text box where I can just paste a short story and have it basically be an audio book? Ideally for free. I want to read a bunch of short stories while I work that don't have audiobook versions.

e: ah hell, I'll just sign up for a bunch of Eleven Labs accounts using temporary email addresses.

e2: holy poo poo after a quick try this is astounding. Gonna go for the $22/mo tier so I can just gently caress around with it as much as I want. Then I'm gonna use Adobe's AI tool to clean up audio of Philip K. Dick reading a speech, then I'm gonna clone his voice and listen to his robot ghost read all of his short stories to me. Like that creepy-rear end animatronic Dick

Design an inventory puzzle for a typical point & click adventure game.

quote:

Here's a sample inventory puzzle for a point and click adventure game:

Puzzle: The Lost Key

Objective: The player needs to find a key to unlock a locked door and progress to the next level of the game.

Location: A small village, where the player starts their adventure.

Clues:
  1. An old man in the village square tells the player that the key is hidden somewhere in the village.
  2. The player discovers a torn piece of paper with a riddle written on it: "I am always hungry, I must always be fed, the finger I touch, will soon turn red."
Inventory items:

An apple
A piece of cheese
A magnifying glass
A matchbox
A candle

Solution:
  1. The player must first figure out that the riddle is referring to a mouse.
  2. The player can then use the cheese to lure the mouse out of its hiding place.
  3. Upon closer inspection with the magnifying glass, the player will notice a key tied to the mouse's tail.
  4. In order to catch the mouse, the player must first use the matchbox to light the candle, and then place it near the cheese to create a light source for the mouse to come out.
  5. Once the mouse has been caught, the player can retrieve the key and use it to unlock the door and progress to the next level.

Note: The solution to the puzzle can be arrived at through various other methods as well, but the above is one possible solution. The aim is to give the player a sense of satisfaction in finding the key through their own problem solving skills and creativity.

It has to be a mouse because that's what cheese is for. If it touches your finger, your finger will be red because it got chomped on account of the mouse being so hungry. And it won't be able to see the cheese if you don't light the candle. Duh!

(seriously though, I enjoyed it because it's in the realm of believable logic from some of those old games)

Looking back, it seems like that "The current date is XXXX" instruction to the AI was hardcoded, so it actually caused the issue in the first place:

This was discovered last week and the AI is still instructed that the year is 2022
