Didn't someone say it gets like this because when there is a interruption in service instead of figuring it out they just run a new wire?

Boy this has a lot going on.

It looks like its a transmission/transaxle bell/tail housing...

...made of aluminum
...that they're slicing with a die grinder that would melt-not cut-aluminum
...and they're using the spindle to the thing clamp down rather than using bolts in the housing via the t-slots? Nope, they have a poorly-home-made fly cutter mounted in the spindle from the last thing they hosed up.

Yea this is peak OSHA. The poo poo has all manner of slicing your fingats, and launching poo poo at you failure modes that are very likely to happen.

Yep it's a fly cutter and I just saw them use it shortly afterwards to "level" the surface and it's pretty :stonklol:

Bullseye. They're cutting off the bellhousing from one transmission to make an adapter.

This isn't really related but as far as "images that trigger the OSHA Thread regulars," does anyone happen to have that pic of the automotive suspension spring that's being compressed by a bunch of monkey wrenches? I recall someone referring to it as "a literal bomb."

Yea 100%

Based on this photo I'd wager this project involves:

- 1 or more trips to the ER
- a welded, poorly conceived adapter between the drive shafts and the trans output shaft the breaks in 1-100 hours
- a car crash

EDIT: Posted before I saw the video. Thank you for posting the video. I love that they even made a "it cut his finger off joke". They dont show the welding but they do show the spacer that they made that they'll def weld on. You can tell because they prepped it at 8:25.

When I was in school for machining the automotive shop that was part of the school brought in a coil over with all but one nut removed. The remaining nut was holding a compressed SUV spring and was stripped. It had no spring compressors on it. We politely sent them away.
