Frank ends up walking away from that deal with more money than he started with, it's incredible :allears:

Oh a classic clean one.

In the Wizard of Oz:

Dorothy and Scarecrow find the Tin Man and he starts talking to them through a rusty mouth.

Tin Man: *mumbles*

Dorothy: "he's saying... 'oil can'!"

Scarecrow: "... Oil can what?"

If Naked Gun is your jam check out Loaded Weapon 1. I watch it yearly.

The only thing I really remember from Loaded Weapon is there is a gag early in the film where a police sketch artist is working with a witness, but they're using a Mr. Potato Head.

A little later in the film, two of the characters are doing a walk and talk and pass cops in the background arresting a struggling Mr. Potato Head :xd:

Edit: Found it!

But he also echoed what others itt have said, which is that modern kids live in a far different universe of media consumption than we do — they don't sit down and watch feature-length movies, they skip around and watch bite-sized things a la carte. Movies in general are a special-occasion thing with a lot of fanfare and baggage.

Kids youtube/tiktok poo poo is fuckin weird man, hopefully that doesn't have any impact on human brain development

No way it doesn't. My generation already heralded in the age of short attention spans and instant gratification and kids today are only getting hyper magnified and targeted versions of the poo poo we put up with and couldn't handle.

Roblox has some of the strangest poo poo on it. Like weird existential dread/pscyhotic (but hey technically not violent!) crap.

I would say that the 70s and earlier had massively more hosed up mass media and a worse culture generally, but look at the total freaks that experience shat out. Maybe the post-collapse children who never know electricity or life beyond the village walls will have a healthier experience.

I think mid-70s is when they decriminalized advertising to children, which was basically the gates opening for the late stage new world order we are in now

Advertising to children has always been legal as long as it's not something that requires a binding contract, like you can't sell a car to a minor. Companies have been directly advertising to children in the US since the early 20th century.

Reagan's FCC gutted all regulations on advertising to children on tv, which is why we grew up watching basically nothing but commercials.

It’s 100% in the delivery of both lines. It’s absolutely wild how many of IASIP’s greatest lines and moments come from a direct-to-dvd Christmas special that didn’t even air on tv until a year afterward.

That combined with all the new tricks about childhood development and human psychology created a kind of consumer training regimen for everyone. Now they've also got kids in casinos at home developing nice addictive habits early on.

Also any number of ones from Futurama, but maybe my favorite just because of how dumb it is and how it just bulls through it even though it knows the audience can see it coming just in time:

"What if there's a soda made of ... people?"
"There is one. Soylent Cola."
"Oh. ...How is it?"
"It varies, from person to person"

I just re-watched the original six episodes of The Nevers, and honestly, I think it holds up really well. Putting aside Whedon being a huge creep and his way of dialogue putting some people off, I think he made some really good tv here.
Also, in an age where tv seasons are constantly getting shorter, and less and less is happening in them, it's just nice to have a fast-paced show like this.

Beautiful cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure

Caught the Netflix documentary, "Pamela: A Love Story," about Pamela Anderson. Really intriguing stuff from the horse's mouth itself, so to speak. She's a good writer since a lot of what is presented is from personal scribbles in journals she's had throughout the years. I'm amazed and feeling kinda bummed I even entertained the notion of watching Hulu's Pam and Tommy, considering how much it hurt her.

Y'all should watch the documentary.
