Oh they have the rods, but they also split the horse and rider vertically into like five sections

I’ve done push fit before, these are push hell

VERTICALLY

One piece is the horse’s head and attached by six rods is the riders foot

And another is the edge of the horse’s face attached by a chain to the shield

And you have to lock in the cross-sectioned third of the rider’s body into half of the saddle first before you put on its foot otherwise the other half of the horse won’t fit and ughhhh

I have built like a thousand models probably across a lot of different armies and these are the most bullshit of all

So your advice is sound in general but I do not think it would hold together long enough if I only glued it without some semblance of its rodding because the points of contact are very slender and unfortunate

The trick with snipping rods is not to snip them off, but to snip them shorter at a diagonal (so it kinda looks like a stake). Loosens the fitting so its easier to push together while keeping some semblance of a rod in place to guide the part in. Trick from Gunpla modelling used to make pre-painting disassembly easier.

Yes I know, and I have been doing that, but thank you for the thought.

Good advice for a model kit that didn’t choose violence!

Warhammer push fits are a pain no matter what since unlike gunpla you dont have nice flat surfaces to push together. It's either something spiky or fragile or both.

Seraphon are getting the treatment I'd hoped Skaven and BoC would get lol. Happy for them though and I'm almost certainly gonna end up starting a new army just for the little feathery raptor dudes alone.

edit: Also just nitpicking but it's kinda weird how every new kit they announce with Skinks involved seems to give them a new head shape lol. Or maybe it's just the way they're painted.

Lizards getting a great new range gives me faith that skaven will get an update at some point in the not too distant future. There's a lot they could do with the skaven range in aos that would be really cool.

The new skink sculpts definitely have a different head shape and it's the one thing I wish they hadn't tried to update. At least on this most recent release the paint job mitigated the "snout" effect a bit more than on some of the other newish releases like the blood bowl team.

It’s an annoying kit but it will be fine. Just way more work than it needs to be. I mostly wish I hadn’t bought five more back before the new kit was released!

Orcs (Ironjawz line ships, Kruleboyz with minefields and cutting holes in enemy ships and other sabotage)

I imagine Stormcast as being folded into the wider Cities of Sigmar fleet, where you have a mix of elf/dwarf/human ships and then a capital ship that's Stormcast. On the other hand, Stormcast would have fleets because Space Marines have fleets, so, you know.

Really it's partly trying to pare down the 24 factions into something more controllable/sensible for a wargame, including picking factions most likely to want to build a spaceship.

There was like an entire 2-year span of pop culture where everyone was obsessed with sea shanties and Master and Commander memes where a fleet-based Sigmar game would have killed, which means they'll probably announce it in 5 years.

That being said I would still 100% be a mark for Battlefleet Gothic on the high seas.

There was a Warhammer FB naval game, I think it predates BFG by a bit too, it was called "Man o' War"

That looks cool as hell. I'm glad GW seems to have finally figured out how to support their specialist games, so many cool ones are either dead or trucking along solely do to the passion of their fanbase. Mordheim has had a real revival in the past few years and I kinda hope it gets the Necromunda treatment when they roll out the Old World stuff.

Here’s the OPR knockoff version of Battlefleet Gothic, it is probably hackable to make AoS factions.

E: Naval factions I can think of are

Seraphon Temple-Ships, Idoneth Soulraiders, Nurgle Drowned Men, Tzeentch Fleet of the Silver Tower, Kharadron Ironclads, Black Ark Corsairs, Soulblight Pirates, Nighthaunt Ghost Ships, Skaven Pi-Rats, Everwinter Icebergs. Not sure any of the other factions fit either spaceships or boats, and I see no reason to divide the two in AoS.

Any excuse to bring back the Vampire Coast is an excuse I'll take tbh.

I'd also note that those OPR rules are being updated and more aligned with their knock-off 40k setting, so I don't know how fit for purpose playing it out of the box would be.

Oh yeah, you’re certainly going to need to rename things and refluff stuff and move some of the poo poo around to make new factions armed with cannons and magic spells instead of lasers and missiles.
