I always buy a rift out, but I'm trying to get into the habit of not hoarding gold to point I'm constantly on the cap. But I can never spend it on weapon upgrades or purchases, because what if someone kills me and takes my stuff, thereby getting enhanced enjoyment at my increased expense?!

I was constantly at the gold cap last chapter, but this one I have been burning through gold like mad. I actually went down to nothing for a game, but one vault put me over 1k again instantly. I'm now done the heist quests and it's making me a little disappointed. They were fun distractions. I am also almost completely up to date on the School of Llama quests. Needing 1 top 10 finish, and I've been lazy. Grinding this gold skull to max is going to be a slog I know though, it's a LOT of team rumble....

Granted not ALL of them have that, but the ones that didn't had me going ham with the big hammer for speed opening and slurp barrels beforehand so I'd assumed I'd just destroyed it without noticing.

As far as vaults, the one in the quarry on the left (I forget the name without seeing the map) is always the easiest to take. Even if the bus goes directly over it. People just don't play well there. And all the heist npcs are so grouped up that they single file their way out towards you every time. You still have to get rid of a few players that drop there. But yesterday I got in twice with no problems in solos. The other 2 vaults seem to get swarmed every single time. I got lucky and saw a card on the mini map in the Bastion vault, and just happened to have the perk that gives you all the truck upgrades. So I just tore the building apart until I found the vault and got my last open a coffer thing done. The rest was pretty painless. Just kinda takes some careful playing.

I don’t use it though because I don’t care if someone kills me at that point because I’m done with everything by that point. Im glad that you don’t need to 100% the quests to get the back bling though. Takes the pressure off.

One thing I miss about build mode is throwing up a couple walls to give me more time in a vault, or to at least make it more obvious someone's about to come in

The quarry has a boss npc with the heist heavy shotgun, which makes looting trivial. You just shoot everything with it and it all breaks. Unfortunately they fixed the floor so you can no longer shoot it with that gun to make them break.

I've been reliably getting into the snowy area vault. that area is so hot that players either kill each other and sprint away or I can usually crouch walk my way there and the ensuing firefight between me and the NPC's is enough to shake most players away from it. Then i clean out the vault or do whatever I need to do. https://twitter.com/iFireMonkey/status/1628420409954639873 now to kill 100 players and get a VR to unlock all the skull bling variants.

Did a lot of grinding of Team Rumble and now I just need a victory royale within the next few weeks. Team Rumble victories I assume won't count...? Just did the Igni challenge and that might have been the worst of the Witcher quests yet. None of these are challenging, they're just tedious and go on for way too long.

They've all been either too long, too boring, or both, and yeah Igni was loving awful. I tried looking it up because I figured there HAD to be something we were missing, but nope, guess it sucks that much! Also my computer issue, to my eternal shame, was outdated drivers. Not sure how I missed that.

So just FYI, a Victory in Team Rumble totally counts. I now have nothing to do besides dailies for ~4 days. Also the 'obstacle' custom maps all suck, but the 'collect 15 medallions one' is my most hated, and I can't believe they are recycling it so many times. It bugs out most times and I have to get at least 16 medallions.

As for the Witcher custom maps, the escort one is short enough, I didn't really mind the obstacle course one but I like those kinds of things (I grew up playing counterstrike jump/climb maps), the pvp one sorta sucks but at least is fast enough if you can figure out who's afk and just go for them over and over. But the one with the boss, holy gently caress, half the team was afk so it was just the two of us doing like 200~ damage per cylce, it took forever and was just so boring, run to the fire, hit the boss, run to the fire, hit the boss. gently caress.

To anyone doing Save the World, but kind of specifically directed at Marcus: The Gold shop purchases have reset again for inventory slot purchases and also the legendary tier survivor is purchasable again. No rush since this happens over months, but they're available again for another 100 inventory slots.

Specifically to avoid actually having Fortnite installed on another device I just use Geforce NOW on my phone (you can use literally anything since it's just cloud streaming), which is simple enough to create both a new nvidia/geforce account and a new fortnite account, then queue up for duos, and as soon as you get to the prep island quit back to lobby on the level 1account, that way it stays level 1 and you don't have to keep cycling through different accounts over time. My first time doing that was last season because I started playing pretty late in the season and I wanted to complete the fishing collection, but it was near impossible to fish in loot lake with actual players around. In hindsight I probably could've just done it by hanging out in the storm and using the fish to heal up but I didn't quite understand that nuance at the time.

I've been doing it with my girlfriend's switch. Did it yesterday and in 3 matches completed the cracking the vault and clean getaway challenges. ITs very easy to do challenges in bot lobbies.

I got my last 4 vaults today for the retro wrap that I'll probably never use, but god forbid I get FOMO later.  I'm at 37 kills for the skull. I'm probably just going to bot the crown thing, because I'm already so tired of the same 3 sweat skins doing the same hide and take someone else's kill from them thing every time I beat a different player. Also I got a win on the match that unlocked the skull, and they should just count it anytime while you have the skull. This is way too many things for one season between this, the Witcher stuff, and the normal season stuff. I'm just going to bot one one win, and just take that easy. Anyway, that's my fortnite story.

this game has its hooks in me and i genuinely did not expect it to. dolly dress-up? points for just dicking around? stupid taunts? sign me up. i even snagged save the world good to know about bot lobbies; i typically play on xbox, but i can team up with a switch account and knock out the more onerous challenges. is the discord in the op still the go-to for groups? anyway, i am a simple creature and watching the joker play the saxophone makes me smile. thanks fortnite and thanks for reading this post

For the Igni Witcher map (which sucks poo poo), I found that if you charge up the second sword to get the “launch me forward in a piercing strike” move you can jump and hit the hull while it’s attacking. It’s not invincible, just high up and the ship pushes you away. The charged move lets you get past the pushback and deal some damage during all phases. Once I figured that out I didn’t do anything else but wail on some zombies to get my health back here and there. Up until that moment I was incredulous that the map wanted me to slog through its bullshit, and my technique definitely feels like an exploit, but idk. Saved me 10 minutes.

Those Witcher custom maps for the School of Llama thing suck so much. I've been putting it off and had 2 paths to complete and had most, but not all, of the custom maps uncovered so doing each one once counted for both paths. That igni one was the absolute worst. But they're all pretty frustrating. I'm dreading the last path opening up now because I really expect them to make me do all of the maps once again. I might as well see it through though. Edit: oh wait, maybe it wasn't the igni one I was thinking of. That one had a pointless puzzle to get to the boss. The other one with all the coins you have to collect and stuff that knocks you off all the time sucks even worse than that.

It's on a separate timer from the Battle Royale one that happens around 9am est for me.  Once you're in STW here's where the quests be:    Final thing is just the most efficient missions on the map to do to get your quests done. The easiest way to cheese eliminations is to get a rocket launcher in Team Rumble. You’ll always respawn with at least one rocket, so land on someone’s head and take them (and yourself) out. Rinse, repeat.
