Might be done with this game for a while. Any Supreme over 11 is too ridiculous, and Ultimate is so easy it's boring. Probably just a game to play when I want to chill out with some FF tracks.

yea ok posted:i was feeling confident in taking on supreme soon but then the end of the Theatrhythm series series kicked my rear end a few times on ultimate. any chart that has you juggling holds with single notes & tossing in multi notes gets me every time and i can only assume supreme has way more of that yeah it's always doubles that contain holds that trip me up. usually because I've forgotten to let go at the end

I’m having a blast with this game as my first theatrhythym and I wished I picked up one of these sooner. Seems like the rpg aspects are important for the harder challenges but so far just enjoying switching characters around a lot to see how they adapt their abilities to this game while I play up to the key chests in every world. Will exp be easy to come by later or should I start focusing on some people to make my life easier after clearing out the easy stuff

I'm enjoying this a lot despite being awful at this sort of thing. getting to the right stick when i need it quickly is feeling tricky, i probably need to adjust how i hold the switch

Are you using face buttons? I’m also pretty bad with the right stick, but ignoring those and switching to triggers/bumpers only + sticks has helped me with it for some reason

experience should stay pretty plentiful, there's also the growth egg items that boost your gains for the next song another tip you might have noticed but just in case: for double stick notes it doesn't care which stick goes in which direction. so if you get two arrows pointing in towards each other followed by away from each other, you can just push the sticks inwards twice (because left and right are still getting hit) think I explained that badly but hope it makes sense

Makes sense to me. I've done that before but it's easy to get tripped up when things are popping off so it probably just needs practice. also thanks for reminding me that items exist!

diagonals are also only checking if you're hitting either of the directions, not both of the directions. so if you have a sting of up-right, right, down-right you can just hit right three times. same goes for the doubles. an up-right and up-left double will register if you just hit both sticks up

A far less useful tip is that you can hit L and R (l1 and r1 I assume on the PS) during the loading screen to make the party fall on their faces.

I'm consistently getting S rank on this song. I had delusions of grandeur that I could practice enough to perfect chain it but I'd settle for just an SS rank for now. My party setup is also ridiculously tanky so I can clear most supreme tracks even with intensely lovely scores. Noctis has blink which ignores damage 3 times, Gladio has a skill that greatly reduces damage but lowers his strength (who cares), and Princess Sarah has a constant regen effect, a skill that lowers all damage, and she can cleanse any debuff up to 3 times. Sephiroth could probably be replaced with another defensive character to make it even tankier but this seems to be good enough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frB7oOAjT4Q

you asked way back if we prefer bursts on or off in multi. I agree it's mario kart poo poo and a straight test of just playing the song is more honourable that said I definitely want bursts on if we ever battle because otherwise I got no loving chance lol

Been pretty much playing this until my switch died, charging to full and repeat. Lol that my top songs are still the ones from the demo, that will change very soon   My main squad, got me through most quests but I did need a decent amount of specialists for certain ones.  Endless quests remain...
