I always wondered if there was something vaguely racialist in how Swedes got named that, it brings to mind 'China Swede' as a bizarre anti-Finnish slur in the 1900s. Which led me to  North Atlantic garbage island getting all the niche racisms out of the box again. Great opportunities for conspiracy zines on what the Sorbs and Yenish people are up to once the press has got bored with kicking *checks notes* Albanians still I guess. e: lol while I was writing this post Johnson found a new group to beef with instead. Like a turnip, swede is also good mashed with carrots. Beets are also good. For anyone reading this in the future these were British staples before we were forced by the wokerati to eat bugs and imported soy beans.

Oh dear me posted:I love swede, but more importantly, it is an essential ingredient of good pasties. Whereas there is no humane use for celeriac. Celeriac sliced into chips, tossed in paprika, salt and olive oil then baked was the closest i got to low carb chips when cooking for my diabetic partner. I can't stand swede and turnip but celeriac just kinda works.

Swede is like if someone opened a portal to the elemental plane of carrot and carved out a big lump of it the size of your fist, also slightly more fibrous generally but lacks the defined structure of carrots being carrot shaped. White turnip is like swede but just sort of... nicer I think?

I can imagine Keith considering it a success if running someone like Berger opposite Corbyn with a fierce "a vote for Jeremy is a vote for antisemitism" campaign resulted in a the vote being split enough that the Tories could creep in. I doubt even Labour HQ are stupid enough to think Luciana is somehow popular among voters, but every loss for the left-wing is a win for Starmer and Fuckboy Evans.
