On the other hand people thought this about Connor Garland too and that didn’t really work out. It’s hard to tell with big fish in small ponds if their production can be sustained once they’re no longer the main puck carrier or getting the same minutes on a much better team. Something to watch out for if/when Chychrun ever gets traded too.

Zetterlund is solid and Shak has great upside but keeping Holtz is pretty wild. Makes me think the Sharks don't like his game which makes sense if Grier wants a Carolina type team.

It highlights pretty well that Hextall hasn't done anything because the Pens simply don't have the assets to acquire anyone that's good enough to move the needle for them at all.

I'd rate those guys like this: Zetterlund: Heavy middle six F with a cannon who plays hard. Definitely a good complimentary piece. Shak: Top 4 upside. Playing a big role in the K and has great physical tools. Think Mike Matheson. Okhotiuk: Old school hits everything dude but can skate. Bottom pair PK specialist potential. and then Johnsson is for cap reasons although worth maybe keeping for a team like SJ. And ofc the 1st in this draft is nice Oh drat 2024 conditional? Maybe if that's Meier signs an extension

They didn't give up anything that they are really going to miss. I liked Zetterlund but he's not going to be a star and Shak, who knows he's a year or two away I guess.

I'd guess that 2nd 1st is contingent on a Meier extension, otherwise it becomes a 2nd. That's my guess. Grier pote totally got 2 1sts and a couple of nice young players, and Fitz didn't need to give up Holtz, so this is a win-win.

If Timo walks after next summer this could end up being a brutal trade, but I’m assuming Fitzgerald knows he’ll be able to get it done if he pulled the trigger Prospects are weird, Zetterlund and Shakir M both have a ton of upside but who knows if they’ll develop
