DryGoods posted:i don't know McCree or his Story, but i would give it to him fair analysis.... and I would agree, except I believe you have forgotten that Roland Deschain has done his Hero's Journey many many times before and so no doubt the McCree Showdown was also an obstacle he has faced before and would know, on the instinctual and spiritual level, how to stand to avoid a Loss (shoulder slightly down, hip slightly back, etc. small things to Succeed)

Back when it was published, it was one of his YA books, like Tunnel in the Sky. There's no way they'd come out as YA now.
