My wife has been watching a bunch of 600lb life with these people who just live an absolute horror show existence of being far too fat and it got me curious enough to look up how heavy Homer was supposed to get to be considered cartoonishly overweight to the point of disability in the 90s Just 300lbs

Reminded of a bit in the letters page of the comic where the answer to a question of how much Homer weighs was 'his weight fluctuates from borderline obese to merely porky'.

I, for one, welcom our steamed AI overlords. I can't wait to get zooted as hell and spend 3 hours watching: - skinner convince himself burning his Nova Scotia clams is a learning opportunity to become a better cook - lady Skinner offer a southern 'Dr. Climber' a nice white wine - Chalmers offering to take all the pixie dust from the fire for safekeeping

I posit that all people in the Simpson universe are short so he's normal height for them but short for us giving him a wider waist. Maybe 50lbs is a perfectly fine weight there

Maybe 50lbs is a perfectly fine weight there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTFs-YyNvkg Well, he's the same height as most people, but with lower shoulders and bigger head, so a smaller torso. On the other hand, those tree trunks of legs must account for a lot of it too. So in conclusion, Homer is surprisingly un-dense, a human polystyrene foam, which is why he can fall great heights with relatively little injury.
