My response to this is WILDLY different depending on which it is.

I think it's a shop in New Asgard in the last Thor movie.

There was an otherwise really good relaunch of Nova (think space cops, Nova Corps is in Guardians of the Galaxy) where a teenage kid finds his dad's space helmet that gives him powers, but there's one scene where a teacher of his just doesn't believe in extraterrestrial life. And it's just like, "What the gently caress? you've seen them on the news at least once or twice a year threatening to kill all of us, for the past 15 years. You can physically go to Oklahoma and hang out with Thor's friends."

Yeah, that's genuinely a little weird when I think about it. Not to Godwin, but that kinda feels like the gay or Jewish part of town having a Nazi-themed restaurant in the 50s. I don't know how Asgard feels about their recent history, but it kinda feels like it might be a tad too soon at best.

What always bugged me about Marvel/DC is that humans in general never seem to have much of a presence in space. Surely it'd be a snap for someone like Reed Richards to terraform Mars, and your own kid might go to school with an alien. But no, people are content to stay in modern day Buffalo for some reason.

Yeah. It was a surprisingly interesting move too as it wasn't a fairytale ending - 2 years had passed so people had just moved on, so 4 billion people suddenly popped back and found themselves with no homes or jobs as they'd been legally dead for years. It caused almost as many problems as the initial snap did. Endgame also had a fun line from the Hulk, where he summarises his glib attitude to time travel with "What? It's time travel. Either it's all a joke or none of it is." which is one of my favourite quotes from the franchise.

I do like the movie Bond they use to show their loyalty is the one who starred in zero movies that were actually based on Ian Fleming books

I read a few of the books.
They aren't very good. He is like Steven King and Tom Clancy had a talented baby that picked up the worst traits of both parents.

1/3 well written, well crafted plot. 1/3 terrible filler. 1/3 weird rear end intrinsically detailed tangent on random rear end in a top hat subject.

I can't remembering which book it was that had a 12 page section of Bond playing Bridge, with breakdowns of every hand and play.

It might as well have been written in cruciform since no one born after Kennedy knows how to play.

I thought Casino Royale was decent, though it revolves around baccarat instead of poker, which as near as I can tell there's no actual strategy to.

The only strategy to baccarat is to put 100% of your money on the banker then leave no matter the outcome. It gives you nearly 50% odds. (46% IIRC)

Anything else and you'll just end up losing slowly.
