Lmao, so according to the post-race show:

Ocon's additional penalty for failing to serve the first one was because a mechanic started working 0.4 seconds too early.

His pit lane speeding violation was for going 0.1 KPH over the limit.

Oof.

Did he gain any positions on the start? If not then the sum total of his infractions probably bought him 0.6 seconds of race pace for probably a minute of penalties including the extra stops.

gasly got hit with the pit speed limit fine yesterday, so alpine probably hosed up setting the limiter wrong and didnt check ocon's after gaslys fine lmao

Sam Collins does a little analysis segment on it, I can try to link it on youtube after the livestream is over.

But basically:

Initial 5 second penalty served improperly.
Replaced with 10 second penalty.
Additional 5 second penalty for pit lane speeding.
Decided to serve them together on a later pitstop.

Who's doing the race commentary on the F1 youtube page? I watched Brundle and Crofty's play by play since that's the one that plays in Canada.

Interesting, thanks. I was watching the highlight reel and I was surprised that the commentary was actually on time and with fewer rambling asides from Crofty.

Alex Jacques is very good, he's been the main commentator for F2 and F3 for years now. David Coulthard is a solid colour commentator too. The fat shouty oval office and the demented never has been on Sky are incredibly bad.

Will Buxton remains insufferably punchable with his lovely redditor mannerisms.

Sainz needs to be retired. I'm tired of these mid race siestas where he loving goes into a vegetative state for the bulk of the race then wakes up with 15 laps to go wondering why he's a pitstop behind the red bulls and is being caught by a loving Aston. I don't know who told him to emulate Schumacher but that's not what they meant
