When I want to relax, I read an essay by Engels. When I want something more serious, I read Corto Maltese.

Yes. The still doesn't really do it justice.

Part of the efficiency of the mimikry is how the red panda perfectly emulates the natural movement of the fir tree branches.

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

The original is so loving creepy. It was painted directly onto his dining room wall and only found by his family after his death. We also don't know that it's actually Saturn as Goya did not title these works. It may just be a giant dude going to town.

Saturn ate his sons at birth and Goya had kind of a hosed up relationship with his only surviving son (while his other sons died in childhood her probably didn't eat any). "Big weird naked guy eating smaller person" isn't out of left field for Saturn.

I guess it makes sense to look at an artist's biography or previous work and inspiration when interpreting/naming a piece by them...

The thing I've never got about that painting is that Saturn later regurgitated the children, who then became the Olympian gods. How was that supposed to happen if he'd chewed them up, like in that painting, rather than swallowed them whole?

How did Athena leap fully grown and armor clad out of the head of Zeus?
