Hmm, that might explain why he seems to only do it with me, and also why he keeps doing this weird thing where he comes up to me and then cringes away, though I dunno why he seems to think that about me specifically given my mother yells at him and I don't. Very weird dog generally, I think I preferred when he was a puppy and just chewed my hand constantly.

He likes you because you are kind, and he's cringing because your mom is mean and unkind, and he feels he has to be super-submissive to not get hurt. Protect and cuddle that dog, because he sounds unhappy, and he just wants to be friends with someone nice.

He's a lot more consistently affectionate with her though, honestly the impression i got was that he was fighting between being afraid of me and wanting attention. I dunno, I am more of a cat person I think, much easier to understand generally   This is the only photo I think I have of my old cat, been gone a long time now but she was sweet, used to happily lay down and make biscuits in the air and dribble a lot if you gave her tummy rubs.

My cats were surprisingly unoffended by his presence. But I took him and the bowl back outside since Hans was considering getting involved, and he might try to turn it into a fight. Human buildings offered safe shelters for them to live and have kittens in, and our farms and granaries attracted lots of cat food in the form of rats and whatnot, and we just shrugged and welcomed the cats in. In all seriousness, cats are a pretty unique case of a domestic animal that we never deliberately domesticated. They did it to themselves.
