They get all mad about GOTV efforts because they think the people doing it are out promising free stuff to slackers, i.e. the people who wouldn't have voted otherwise but if they voted at all would vote Democrat. They think the concept of GOTV is left-tilted because the only people who would respond to it are the ones who are looking for a handout and something fun to do on a Tuesday.
