Nah, that would probably piss them off. Gutting child labor protection laws was ok because boomers think kids are weak and lazy. Kids should be working in the mines to teach them life lessons and so boomers can get their lattes faster from Starbucks.

Eating red meat is a god given right so anything else is just wrong.

while I don't disagree the pictures are likely staged, if you were actually plating the trays and sticking em in a grab and go window they'd look a lot better than if you handed a lunchlady your tray for them to slop food onto with an ice cream scoop

Now that the band is back together maybe they can play wallstreet again with some updated infographics.
Given how wallstreet operates it'll probably boost their morale and the market will rally with how much worse wealth disparity in this country has gotten since 1999.

I mean an entire loving wedge of brie, half a pound of asparagus, an 8 oz steak, and some fruit for every kid every lunch in france? not a chance. Itally got like a 10 dollar portion of salmon there if you were cooking it at home and half a bag of grapes.

I can confirm the Swedish ones are real

I first scoffed at the swedish one but looking at it closely the only thing I feel is out of place is the plate(ours were some kind of plastic but i went to literally the shittiest school in the country) and the watermelon, it looks professionally plated though for the photo but all of it looks like something that would've been either main course or part of the salad bar

my favorite lunch was the breaded fish cause it came with a yogurt sauce which was to die for

There's no obscene amounts of creamed corn or tater tots with mold on it.
My low income school lunches tended to have mold on some of the food.

this goes way back but wasn't one of the big things about ppaca and the court case that the expanded medicaid could really impact state finances and that's why a bunch of them sued to get rid of the mandate? There was some sort of grant money to fund medicaid but no guarantee it would exist in the future.

Yeah, the feds subsidized more of it at the beginning of the expansion, as they subsidized more of it during the pandemic.

iirc the court case against forcing states to accept expansion was bc the feds threatened to withhold all federal medicaid funding unless a state accepted expansion which even the lib scotus justices decided no-can-do.

I was still surprised that medicaid funding takes 1 out of every 5 dollars of NY state's budget (even with federal subsidies) and is expected to increase to one out of every 4 dollars within a few years.

It's just another data point as to how a federalized public healthcare program for all would be a boon to the states, as well as to citizens.
