thats not even, remotely true, counter strike isnt anything close to interchangeable with anything except, the other 2 counter strikes, valorant, and like 2 other games that are long dead including one from the creator of counter strike, and even cs players are gonna argue about which one is the good one

counter-strike's core gameplay is so monumentally different than that most other multiplayer FPSes that it's effectively a different genre to them you certainly can play CSGO as a frag game, and there's entire community servers dedicated to it, but the actual basic gameplay of CS is heavily centered around strategy and execution far moreso than it is about flick skill, which is the main draw for people that aren't logging on to AWP only aim servers. i don't think it's a major coincidence that two of the biggest esports today are CSGO and valorant, because that kind of slow-paced strategy mixed with fast pops of action is insanely addicting to watch and play because of the natural gameplay flow it creates between the buildup of tension followed by its sudden and unpredictable release

valorants, extremely that kind of game. its a hero shooter and the abilities are really important but, it still has all the CS guns and they all work the same way and youre gonna get popped in the head a lot before you even get to use your abilities. also a lot of the abilities are just, different kinds of molotovs and frags and smoke grenades

the new guys funny because he has a crew of little buddies that he throws around as his abilities, a molotov buddy, a little guy that you can throw around corners to spit in peoples faces as an ersatz flashbang, and a guy that you can pass the bomb to have him go plant it for you. but because they're pokemon instead of grenades you can just go put them back in your pokeball and throw them again in the same round

There's an ancient CS 1.6 comedy video where it starts off with the Ride of the Valkyries and then one entire team rocks up as HL1 Helicopters blowing poo poo up, and then it just gets weirder from there. It drips the mix of the Japanese urban legend / historic mythos combo aesthetic, the combat itself is viscerally fun and looks really cool, and the collection portion is the smoothest, easiest collectathon I've ever had the pleasure of playing. The entire soundtrack is also A++, I had added it to my playlist after I finished the game and didn't regret it. The MC also has a good character arc IMO, made the ending a bit more satisfying. I'd just be flying around fighting Visitors even when I didn't need to because it was just fun to do while doing collection stuff.
