The module it's attached to then turns that into a friendly voltage for the other modules to use for whatever Huang has patched it into. I don't know how much of it is what's being sensed and how much is what he's set up to just change on its own.

Patch that to oscillator (sound generator). Something to generate gates on (turn the sound on and off), slap some reverb on it.

I've not read much history, but I've been around a bunch of horses, and the most dexterous part of them is the lips, so perhaps you're looking in the wrong direction. Tiny horse-mouth-sized bows and arrows is what I'm suggesting.
