Those grave stones seem to be really close together. Like the skeletons could be spooning. Is this a real graveyard or a place they relocated a bunch of stones (and bodies?) once the land the old graveyard was on became valuable?

it's an old graveyard, people used to pack them in to save space - big parklike graveyards with more elbow room are more of a late 19th century thing. the headstones are also really thin (uses less stone) looks like it's this graveyard: https://www.brethren.org/bhla/germantowntours/

If you want to see a cemetery with only the stones removed, go down to Pat's or Geno's at 9th & Passyunk in Phila. The adjacent ballfield complex (Capitolo Playground) between 9th & 10th used to be a graveyard. The developer was contracted to remove the bodies to a new location & re-bury them in new caskets, etc. but what few bodies of the 47,000 he did remove went to mass graves at the perimeter of the field.

A house in Adelaide Australia just got listed, it was owned by a retiree who turned it into a business venture and rented out tiny little rooms as student accommodation. The house has 4 bathrooms and 19 bedrooms. https://www.news.com.au/finance/rea...4dcf648ffe8d6b9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhND98xGYMY

I live next to a war memorial cemetery! It’s awesome. My neighbours are the squirrels and rabbits who live there, and on Independence Day and Christmas the graves are all lit up with candles and it’s really pretty. Plus with so many blocks of land around here being bought and redeveloped as apartments, it’s nice to know that we're not going to wake up one morning to a building site next door. I 100% recommend the graveyard life.

Spite-bulding around a landlord who wouldn't sell the land? I bet they frequently have to replace those patio windows after a game.

Neddy Seagoon posted:Spite-bulding around a landlord who wouldn't sell the land? The stadium was apparently rebuilt in the late 90's so it's possible they were both built at the same time looking at the similarity in the brickwork. That's a very late 90's looking block of flats. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brisbane_Road It's in london so I assume that was just an attempt to squeeze every possible bit of use out of the land available, possibly to fund the construction of the stands. For some people that would probably be a benefit honestly.
