I recently started a new entry level IT job since I am new in the field and good lord the benefits package of the company that hired me is kind of crazy. The health insurance they're providing is a PPO with $0 deductible, $0 copays and 0% coinsurance on everything except ER visits (which is a $100 copay and 0% coinsurance). They're covering all the premiums for me, my spouse and my dependents as well. It's almost like I moved to a country without a poo poo healthcare system.

Mine is very similar but only covers the employee; it’s close to $1100/mo to cover a spouse and child(ren) thanks to being a small company that no longer qualifies for local benefits due to a small office out of the state. It’s definitely a nice bonus for me though. We sent an intent to fire notice to our MSP like two weeks ago and every day they are dragging it out. Yesterday they asked for a meeting request to go over all the reasons why we feel justified despite telling them multiple times in the notice and in prior meetings. I knew this was going to be a battle since we basically pay them nearly 200k/year to do nothing but up charge us on licenses for datto/knowbe4/etc and close an average of 5 level 1 tickets a month. I’m ready to move on and start migrating to new systems and every day it gets delayed is just adding more work that’ll have to do by the end of this month. If I’m running a company on a reasonable margin and burn rate, how would I possibly have the leeway to accommodate a nearly unlimited liability like covering employee healthcare? So I’d want an understanding of how either the employer or insurer (if not self insured) is making this work. Unless you are reducing salaries by like $10k across the board or something. Then you have to get into weighing the bennies vs. cash comp.
