LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DOG

Maybe I should get back into KSBD. When I first started reading, the lore felt overwhelming. Often felt like I didn't have much grasp of what was going on.

that's all right, the main characters usually don't either
it's a simpler story than it might appear to be, the lore is there and meaningful but not really mandatory
e: the most complex part is probably Incubus' whole backstory, which is still being exposited to this very page

I really wanted to read KSBD back in the day but it was not mobile/tablet-friendly, so I didn't really get into it. A shame.

I think when I last read K6BD Solomon had just been introduced? I need to get back into it, I basically stopped reading webcomics in general a few years ago

Yeah I could tell I would love this comic one day but I was not really able to sustain. I think I got lost in the weeds. I've loved every page I've seen from it and the general tone, though.

does she get a prosthetic or what, this comic might get slightly ridiculous if she's doing one legged kung fu the rest of the series, lmao

I found it much easier to follow in print! The collected editions are great, though they're missing some of the prose side stories.

For anyone looking to get back in with K6BD it is being posted from the beginning in the PYF Webcomics thread. I think we're into book/chapter 2 at this point.

I skipped over this part of the post and got unreasonably happy that Doc Samson got an incredibly badass moment, made even better since someone seemed to have cut (and dyed?) his hair.

I like Doc Samson. He is a therapist who can punch Hulk.

If you're referring to the Injustice bit where Alfred takes the super pill and beats up Superman, they're both written by Tom Taylor.

Tom Taylor really specializes in dystopias and people you wouldn't expect kicking the poo poo out of characters way out of their league.

From Kill Six Billion Demons, humongous spoilers

10 Vigilant Gaze Purges the Horizon is an angel who spends most of his time on guard duty. Whenever someone approaches, he says "HO THERE! COMING OR GOING?"

later, he comes to aid his fellow angel 82 White Chain Born in Emptiness Returns to Subdue Evil against 6 Juggernaut Star Scours the Universe

after White Chain gives him a moment to power up, he does this

and then says this

I just watched a video recap/review on the Tom Taylor Marvel book, and it's so disappointing because he clearly rushed the ending because DC backed up a truck full of money to his lawn. I think it was planned to be at least 8 issues if not 12, and just shoved a resolution into issue 6.

Which is a shame because as stated, his DC stuff is bleak, but enjoyable. There is the smallest hope shining out from all the darkness. I don't know if it's a happy ending in his stories, but maybe it's not the absolute worst.

It is nice that Taylor remembers to put the family in Bat-Family. (Also Super-Family now.) Not everyone does.

It's why the promo for the Robin/Titans OGN thing made me laugh. The writer is like "we wanted to take a new tack with Dick, where he's Bruce's son and Damien's big brother who wants to bring him out if his shell"

It's sweet, but also constantly reminds me of the timeline issue where the age difference is anything from like 13 years to 7 when they first meet up. I wonder what it's at now?
