Just played against a casino mage who discovered Frozen Buckler from Prismatic Elemental, and his Tear Reality got him Potion of Illusion and Ice Block, so his Rommath was infinite and gained him 10 life and bought him a turn whenever it was played. Sometimes you get rolled, and that has to be the best possible outcome for that deck.

The legendary Warrior spell is extremely weird to print into a format where Lor’themar a) exists, and b) isn’t exactly tearing things up. It’s absurdly powerful with things like Grom and Remornia, but how do you search for it and what does the rest of the deck look like?

Has there ever been a card that's been received so badly in its preview that it was buffed before release? I know they've revealed some cards before that were already buffed internally but I don't remember any of the former. Well I guess to be fair we haven't seen the rest of the Warrior kit yet. Maybe they have some way to cheat it out.

Honestly, the problem isn't even that Warrior needs something to let them get their legendary spell out easier (although they do need that). The problem is that they don't even have many units that really benefit from setting their stats equal to their cost. Warrior cards are already statted pretty well, especially since they've been getting higher health than usual to work with Warrior's frenzy theme. Are Decimator Olgra and Fleshshaper better as 6/6s instead of a 3/7 or 3/8? Probably, even if it's not as cut and dry as you'd like. Is Blackscale Brute better as a 7/7 than a 5/6? Yes. But a few stats aren't what was stopping those cards from being played, so if Blackrock 'n' Roll is going to do anything it's going to be relying on the cards they're adding this set.

Already you're going back to the old kernel of building a deck around 1 card (that doesn't automatically start in your hand like a quest) is generally a bad idea. It's a secondary win condition at best, and many games you arguably don't have time to play it on curve (or at any time) and then draw your win conditions. My impression is it's still bad but I'm sure it will be really annoying to me when a warrior plays it on turn 8 or 9 and then immediately plays two 0 mana 28/28's onto the board.

I don't think the spell is bad in a vacuum, if control warrior becomes a thing again I think it will be worth including as somewhat of a win condition. Really depends on what the meta is like after rotation, although warrior is losing one of their top all-time board clears in shield shatter so who knows.

The Riffs look interesting. I don’t know what they go in, but the play pattern at least looks cool. FYI, expect a Core Set reveal tomorrow. They don’t have any expansion previews scheduled for the afternoon, which is unusual for a weekday during reveal season, so they’ll probably dump the Core Set and maybe post a video talking about it (and possibly the Year announcement/roadmap?) in that slot.
