There is leather that is technically real leather but it's made from leftovers from the good leather. Usually this is called "genuine leather" and has a painted on plastic coating. What you want is full-grain leather, which is uncoated, tough and develops nice patina with use and lasts almost forever if cared for.

The anniversary sale has me eyeing two retro gaming products and I'm torn between them: RetroScaler 2x is $49 (normally around $52) -$5 -$1 = $43 OSSC is $122 (not sure normal price) -$20 -$15 -$1 = $86 The Retroscaler is their ripoff of the Retrotink 2x. The OSSC should just be an ossc since it's open source.

I blanched and froze them yesterday and just fried up the first test batch today and that turned out great. In a single batch I saved about $20 from buying the same weight of frozen fries at retail, so hell yeah. I'm going to dial in the parcooking even better and make some even bigger batches later

I have a bunch of the regular plastic cases, nothing particularly stunning or interesting. I just ordered another pack of these phone hand hold thingsys, they’ve been the best phone product I’ve had from ali, I really love it. I’ve had the same one on the phone since 2021 and it’s finally starting to show wear and getting more pinkyblackish than pink. They come with two in the box but my son took the other.

First Temu order arrived in 8 days. Second was made on the 6th, should have gotten it today but probably tomorrow. Third was placed on the 11th, still not in the country yet I dont believe. I got the $5 credit for that. I used that in one more order on Monday, which has also not shipped yet. Slightly concerned.

China is China. I asked a company I paid for some items from last Thursday if they got my payment and they said sure, and they’ll mail it out this upcoming Saturday. Sometimes things are surprisingly quick, sometimes you just gotta wait. This is why you gotta have more orders in place so they can arrive while you wait for the new stuff.

I finally did something I’ve been thinking about for a long time 6kg (13.2lb) bulging box covered in tape  Tsar Wart was right there… but we got Satr Wrat instead. A 222 page manual, with some stickers between the pages  Unpacked on an unclean floor  Which will eventually become this Millennium Falcon + stand  I’ve been looking at it for so long and know all the practical reasons why I shouldn’t have bought it but after the recent ali lego I made and really enjoyed, I decided to go for it. Plus I got a bonus from work which may be the last one ever since another 80 people were made redundant this month. Odd: the one I bought was AU$396.87 which is on the cheaper end of the many available but it shows as “no longer available” today, and if I go to the store it shows a little “Store on vacation” note and you can’t do anything except press Go Back. They also had free shipping and it came via DHL, which is usually a premium for ali orders here.
