Hokkaido 20/20 - I struggled with this one in the beginning but once I figured out the staff area on the bottom floor I had a blast. I was able to do the ninja and SA/SO challenges with relative ease. For SASO I used the poison stem cells and sauna kills, if you start in the morgue its really very easy. The Ninja challenge was a little bit rougher but the same concept as the others. My favorite challenge is the one where you just shoot Soders in the head in your VIP Patient suit. gently caress SODERS.

Realize you're done with it now, but maybe worth noting for Freelancer or other revisits if you didn't find it, you can get a universal access pass that doesn't require outfit changes by using a disposable keycard unlocker to open the morgue drawer closest to the room where the guards are with Soders' heart. Real boon for SASO, but also just helpful to know in general going back to Hokkaido.

Despite having some of my most frustrating ET and Freelancer failures, it remains one of my favorite maps.

Freelancer modifiers/sub modes?

Unlocks when you do a Campaign in hardcore mode. If you've already done that, it's an auto unlock once the patch drops.

Edit: It's only a suit, so no special modifiers or anything. Sadly. I kinda want them to move the Freelancer way to the main game as optionals.

lmao no thanks

It's neat that they're adding the training missions to Contracts, but I suppose they are a little small to bring into the Freelancer rotation. I don't think it would take that much work to get New Zealand working: maybe add some temporary tents or something to the plains, or hell, make the fake boat from training real and dock it off the coast. Just smush all the training maps together.

Oh, loving hell. There isn't going to be a patch until loving May? Currently Freelancer is crashing on me whenever I try to change my suit. Was hoping for that to be fixed.

Maybe I should just uninstall and reinstall and see if that fixes it.

Other than patch stuff I still just want them to chuck everything into Freelancer, balance be damned. More variety is more better in this case imo

e: New escalation later this year too! Hopefully more than one lol. Other than that seems like game's pretty much complete and just looping ETs and some cleanup. It's been a long fun road though

I did find that and it is very helpful! :D When I did the SASO run I brought the lethal poison with me so I could avoid routing through the Kitchen, you can have the surgeon in the stem cell surgery room open the door for stem cell storage if you drain the tanks. You can then go through the security room in the morgue (where the recording machine is) and run through the snowmobile repair area to get to the maintenance area for the sauna kill, you can drop a tool in the door leading into the sauna/bathroom so it won't close. I'm not sure which route is better but I hated having to clear out the game room to get to the kitchen for the lethal poison. A better method would probably be to take the pipe on the outside near the helipad and grab the remote to stimulate the morgue doctor so you can access the heart.

Yeah, just add all of the maps. Hawke's Bay, First Test, Final Test, Carpathian Mountains, everything. Could just have them as mini missions for Freelancer that only shows up in the first half or something.

Bought the trilogy during the Steam sale, previously played Hitman 1 on my brother's Xbone and Hitman 2 on my PS4. I thought I would be frustrated by my need to re-earn Mastery on all the old levels, but its been a complete delight. The core gameplay loop of Hitman is just completely flawless to me.

Slightly dreading returning to Colorado next, but maybe if I maintain plenty of saves, I can keep clocking out achievements without too much tedium.

My god, is that overpowered. Just walked by him on the dance floor, poisoned him and then left via the shrine. It’s not quite as OP as the telephone but it’s drat drat close.

I learned an easy SASO with him is to bring in just a micro taser (Remote or Proximity will work, but make sure it's a micro one or he'll spot it.) In the theater on the stage, there's a propane flask and a few coins. Pick them all up and then immediately toss the flask right back down in the same spot so it leaks, and then drop coins around it along with the micro taser. When Philo brings the couple down the stairs to show off the room, he notices the coins first and thankfully the couple stays back when he goes to try to retrieve them.

I should stop holding out hope that IO will ever consider finishing any of the Sniper Assassin maps as proper third person maps. I would love to be able cause a prison riot and run around pelting guards and inmates with a smuggled fish, but alas... :sigh:

Its kind of a weirdly specific dress up power fantasy too, more GQ magazine rather than Soldier of Fortune, which is very unusual as far as masculine videogame fantasies go. I think that's one of the reason James Bond seems like such a good fit for IOI.

Thanks folks for the advice about the fart briefcase. I will now be abusing it for all it's worth.

I just did the Dartmoor Garden Show. They really captured the poncy look and vibe of the upper classes in the British summer.

Do you get anything for doing the elusive targets, apart from suits with gloves? I've still never done one but I gently caress up regularly, so I'm not sure if the mode is for me.

Apart from the suits, not really. A bit of level mastery, maybe? Once you have the suit for five ETs Silent Assassin, the only reason to go SA is for your own satisfaction.

Remember, you can restart ETs from the escape menu at any time, until you complete an objective. The game totally expects you to do so, the RNG-based facial reconstruction one in Hokkaido even explicitly notes to reconfirm the target if you do!
That means you can scout out an ET safely and if you do an oopsie, just it start over...as long as you haven't killed a target or picked up an objective yet.

Totally, plus I lost the sapienza one when I transferred over from H2. The Summer Suave suit has been a decent replacement though, there’s something deeply enjoyable about casually taking down targets while rocking a flower shirt and summer hat. :allears:

You and me both, buddy. Every night that I boot this game up I have to do it 3-4 times before I can get through the iOi screen without the screen freezing. Any music track that was playing keeps playing until it reaches its end and then there's just silence. Nothing I do works and I'm forced to close the game and try to boot it back up again, and obviously all level progress is lost (especially annoying in Freelancer since there's no autosaves)

I just completed my first campaign last night—I did it without any Alt + F4ing, but the game kinda Alt + F4'ed me once via one of these crashes, ultimately leading to my only failed mission. I was about 45 minutes into a very slow and careful 3-target Marrakesh level when the game froze on me, and I saltily quit playnig for the evening. Came back the next night and was way more reckless and got gunned down. Man was I pissed. But all's well that ends well, finally got that first campaign completion.

Like you, I can't figure out any rhyme or reason how/why the crashes happen; seems totally arbitrary. As mentioned above it is way more frequent upon start-up, but there's nothing stopping it from randomly happening during a mission, while menuing, in a loading screen, or anywhere else. Highly frustrating.

Double posting to say that I've been noticing in TV and movies when a scene feels "Hitmanny", and the opening scene of the first episode of Perry Mason's second season was so much like a Hitman WOA scene I had to check my hands to see if I was holding a controller or not. A guy on a fancy casino boat dressed as a waiter wordlessly walks through the crowd (totally ignoring a guy trying to place a drink order), walks through the kitchen into a staff laundry area, lights a bin on fire, walks outside onto the deck of the ship, gets into a smaller boat and bails, watching the boat light up from the distance. He wasn't bald though so I knew it wasn't really 47.

Got extremely lucky with my completion of The Heartbreaker. I had no idea it was gonna be my 5th SA Elusive Target, which unlocks the Winter Suit, and I got that SA by the skin of my teeth. I poisoned his wine but man it was dicey getting to that wine glass and out again without anyone seeing me. At least once I thought the meter had completely filled up and I was gonna be spotted but I guess it wasn't.

I love the Winter suit though. The coat is cool and I love those black gloves, they're so much better looking than the driving gloves you get on a lot of the suits.

Yeah I'm on PS4 and freelancer has been crashing my game every other mission. The base game is still fairly stable though so I'm hopeful the May patch will iron things out. Also it mostly happens after mission end when the game syncs with the IOI servers so I haven't lost progress because of it yet.
