I showed the skateboarding sketch with Darby Allin from AEW to a friend and he laughed a few times, so I showed him the fully loaded nachos one (as it’s become a constant in joke between me and my girlfriend) and it was clear that I should have stopped where I was.

He didn’t seem to realize it was the late show and we can say whatever we want.

Yeah you gotta ease normies in, I like to start with this SNL sketch which is 100% Tim Robinson weird but also has the calming presence of Kenan.

I feel like not losing it at the nacho sketch is simply a matter of inexperience. Either you can viscerally recall nacho injustice or you can't

see that first one strikes me as a way more oddball sketch than the latter. that's the thing! you never know what sketch is gonna trigger someone's love!

which is why you must force them to watch all of it.

I should it to my friend of 30 years, a dude who is like completely locked in with my sense of humor. He got a few chuckles out of it but mostly didn't like it.

I don't really understand it. My best guess is that people are thrown off by the way the show subverts sketch comedy tropes? The setup premise is very often not what the joke actually ends up being.

Yeah, it's essentially a bonus episode of the show. The Limo company sketch and the Pointer Brothers are up there with the best of ITYSL.

I’d honestly put coffin flop in the bottom half of sketches. I still love it, but there’s way more I liked than it.

I believe the comments in the skateboard sketch on YouTube mention that he did it on behalf of BrainDead which uncool me wasn’t aware of but is apparently a design and fashion brand.

I tried to show ITSYL to my wife and much like Tim & Eric, it seems to make her physically angry so I haven’t even bothered with S2.

The only sketch I’ve had relative success sharing with normal people was the “Brian’s Hat” with a couple of close work colleagues, which definitely hit home since we had someone on our team who was a complete imbecile and we’d unsurprisingly text/message back and forth constantly in disbelief of the dumbass stuff he’d say and do.
