I just saw the TJPW show in Tokyo live, and it was fun. Although my main takeaway from it is hat Shoko Nakajima is smaller in person than i thought she would be. Also it was at tiny venue.

long-rear end nips Diane posted:I was really surprised at how many there were the other day but I guess it's not that uncommon for stardom There’s always draws in the Cinderella tournament but this was more than usual - I think part of it was an awkward timing pre-Yokohama where they had a bunch of names already in matches that they wanted to eliminate and didn’t want to do too many upsets so that is how they did it. Last year had two; and they’ve done weird things with them before like in 2018 when the first semi-final (Io-Mayu) ended in a draw so the second semi became the final (Momo-Bea with Momo winning). I do think the Stardom draw thing is overblown: they mostly are tournaments that always have draws; or on house shows which aren’t major focuses and I’d rather have a few draws to have interesting matches. In major featured title matches the only non-finishes I can remember were the Giulia-Maya Yukihi match which was a double count-out that owned and added to the match; the Tall Saya-KAIRI White Belt match which was re-scheduled from August to the day before the IWGP Title match where KAIRI won so the draw was sort of the only option in doing the match; and the Utami-Syuri match where they did the draw, restarted and did a DKO and that was one of the best matches they’ve ever done.
