Live twin spright performed pretty good at some casual locals. Played a branded guy a few times, once i was able to establish my board, I won but he wised up and started getting rid of carrot and red ASAP without letting me into the twin combo. Branded is really good right now

Finally gave in to the temptation and crafted a Floo deck from scratch.

Holy gently caress, this might be some of the most fun I’ve had ever since I started MD. Something about the flow of their playstyle just really clicks for me.

Elf needs to be errata'd to be playable. I don't know if it should be "Have to make this with 2 sprights" or "Can only revive sprights" but it's gotta just be changed. Reviving any 2 is loving insane and will only ever lead it to being a card that makes horrible loving poo poo happen down the line.

I wonder how this banlist will translate to Master Duel, cause that's a lot of UR refunds Konami would have to give out, and with Tear coming out soon I doubt Konami want to be gifting everyone enough UR to potentially just craft a full Tear playset.

This is the decklist for the person currently in first place for DC:

Based on the commentary on that person and the others competing for the top spot:

Runick Stun, Ishizu Branded Despia, and Spright are the top decks (and I ordered them based on their relative strengths).

I find it interesting that OCG is acknowledging the relatively small Runick Stun presence in OCG tournaments. Kashtira, Purrely, and Adamancipator are likely to be the top contenders in OCG after this list.

Lipstick Apathy
I played against pretty much that exact same list for every match since duelist level 16. My Floo list destroys this deck, but I'm hoping Konami sees that play rate and does something about this deck.

Edit: I wouldn't mind stricter hits to floodgates and going second blow out cards. But what I really want to see is Hugin and Fountain limited. The former because it sucks that Runick Spright can just play the other half of their deck and get back in the game. Fountain because a non-hopt draw 3 is way more annoying to me than any floodgate.

One of my favorite decks, Agents, has become a deck that's far too complex these days for me to be able to play well anymore.

That being said, Sanctuary in the Sky + Majesty Hyperion + Masterflare Hyperion is the funniest loving board I've ever made in this game and all of my opponents who have just let it happen and then not had an out for it have got to be steaming at me afterward.

The current first place -- Konami will do a final tally and check to finalize points and placement -- is Exosisters who utilized Secret Village of the Spellcasters. What a way to counter Runick Stun, Ishizu Branded Despia, and Spright.

So I’m just wondering: for Floo, should my typical highest priority for Empen’s on-summon draw be the trap, followed by the continuous spell and map? I figured that having an on-demand summon chain-starter beats relying on your opponent having to do a normal summon themselves

Field spell or advent are usually top priority if you don't have them already

Irony Be My Shield

Dreaming Town is critical for sure, it lets you do your entire combo again on their turn and ALSO flips their entire field face-down. Map probably comes second since your opponent might be forced to play into it even if they have a way to stop the trap and it also makes your followup significantly better. Unexplored Winds is good as a third option so you can tribute something on their field while comboing off on their turn.

ZenMasterBullshit posted:

Dreaming town is a significantly better choice if you already have established empen on the field. Field spell and advent don't do anything to advance your game plan at that point.

I predict Runick Fountain to 2, just like the OCG banlist. Maybe Branded Fusion to 1 or 2, but with tearlament upcoming, I am unsure if these will be the ban depending on the tearlament pre-hits.

I feel like Cross Duel failed to make a decent case for itself anyway; like, why does it exist, what was its purpose? It got too weird to be immediately understandable, but not weird enough to live on its own terms.

It seemed to conceptually start off as 'four player Yu-Gi-Oh', which is a perfectly reasonable angle--I remember the four-player duels in the original anime and kids hacksawing four-player rulesets in schoolyard lunchtimes (granted, I don't think a single one of those duels actually finished). But when they developed it they wound up getting too far removed from that to just be four-player Yu-Gi-Oh. And that almost would've been fine if they'd gone all the way with that and made an entirely different thing that just happened to be a Yu-Gi-Oh spinoff, really channel that weirdass Falsebound Kingdom/Duelist of the Roses energy, but they didn't go that far either.

It makes sense that they'd want a multiplayer format (EDH is the most popular MtG format, afterall) but it did seem like a very weird implementation. Plus they already had their playerbase split across multiple online clients anyway.
