I played some Last Epoch and the more I play it the more I'm impressed by the depth of it's skill builds.
It does a lot of things I really liked about Diablo 3 but better.

I really appreciate how clear it is which abilities are affected by the various stats when you look at them in the skill menu, it makes it a lot easier to make your own build as you go without having to wonder if something scales with something else.

Yeah.
Also skills interact with other skills in interesting ways!

Diablo 3 is the only other Diablo-like that I've seen that does that.

I don't know why anyone hasn't attempted something like D:OS's elemental interactions in an ARPG. Let me shoot oil slicks to ignite or whatever. Would be really interesting in coop play.

If you want elemental interactions in an ARPG, you should check out Magicka. The magic system is based on elemental interaction (and chaos).

I loved Magicka; I should've said "Diablo-like" and not "ARPG" 🙃

There's almost certainly a fansite out there listing the extensive, arduous steps to get the original functioning on modern hardware. There's also a fan-made remake floating around if you mainly want the gameplay over anything else.

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?
Is there any way to take a screenshot of the steam dashboard? Not in game. I reached a milestone time on a game and want to take a picture of it. I know I can just use printscreen but I feel having it on my steam account would mean it'd be easier to not lose. I don't think there is a way :(

You can upload it as an artwork like I did with hax accusations when I played multiplayer shooters.

I'm having a really hard time with this Volcanic Glacier map in Terra Nil. Can't seem to get my lava flows aligned well to build rocks in good positions to get all the flaura biomes setup and such.

Good thing, I like a bit of a challenge, but wtf I've restarted like 4 times because I run out of resources lol.

I'm looking at Sifu... if I very much enjoy DMC and Sleeping Dogs but deeply dislike parry/counter-heavy combat like Sekiro and Wo Long, is this a good decision? Footage of the gameplay looks rad, but reviews talking about counters and frustratingly tight combo timing have me worried.

I'm not fully sure what you're asking, you can save a screenshot that way if you rarely take them, but I personally use ShareX utility for screenies. I can even marquee select an area to screenshot if I want. There is also a Snipping Tool included with Windows which probably is pretty good. I would recommend trying that out.

For uploading to Steam as an artwork you have to go to your artworks page, there will be upload artwork button there.

Sifu is really good and also almost entirely about either parrying or dodging using the parry timing so I would say it's a bad decision.

$2/$12/$18 tiers

after editing wikipedia as a joke for 16 years, i ve convinced myself that homer simpson's japanese name translates to the "The beer goblin"

That's a good-rear end bundle of boomer shooters.

Nightmare Reaper - S-tier. Normally $25, 94% on steam.
Deadlink - Early Access haven't played. Normally $20, marked down to $16 right now. 92% on steam.
Graven - Early Access B-tier. Normally $25, 69% on steam. The overall score for Graven is trending up as they patch and improve the game. The update they pushed out last October really helped. Game kinda sucked before that update. Seems like a long way to go before launch, though.
Wrath: Aeons of ruin - Early Access B-tier. Normally $25 , 81% on steam. I'll be honest, I'm not sure if this game is ever going to come out of early access. The update from last fall is that it will leave EA in "Spring 2023" but we'll see.
Forgive me father - C-tier. Normally $20, 86% on steam. I'm not a big fan of this game, but it's worth a shot.
Viscerafest - Early Access , no idea on scoring. Normally $15, 91% on steam. This has been on my wishlist for a while
The citadel - A-tier. Normally $15, 94% on steam. Hell yeah this game loving rules and more people should play it. Game is a little janky on the technical side, though.
Impaler - No idea. Normally $3, 95% on steam. Looks cool? Came out in December so I missed this one completely.

About $150 worth of games for $18

There was some discourse from review outlets about how anime + boomer shooter era gibs = guro fetish porn. Developer patched in an option to remove the gibs and gore.

Last year I paid 11€ for a Best of Boomer Shooters bundle that had Dusk, Amid Evil, Project Warlock, Ion Fury, HROT, and some others. That's a really amazing selection for a ridiculous price.

Now the new best of Boomer Shooters bundle has the Citadel, its three best reviewed games are roguelites (which likely means no proper level design), and it costs 17€. Meh.

There's a reason, besides the language barrier, that this japanese indie game doesn't get a lot of coverage.

It was a real process of discovery a while ago in the Retro FPS thread:

Basically on first glance you're just a gun shooting robots, looks like a million other shooters

Ah the main character is some young looking anime girl, quite unusual for FPS games

Oh the anime girl is dressed in some incredibly impractical fetish outfit, unfortunately not so unusual for videogames as a whole, but by now some red flags should be going off

Oh it turns out that every robot you fight is actually some sort of anime girl cyborg body horror monstrosity ala this Robocop scene

Aaaaand it turns out that when you kill said cyborgs they explode into gibs that consist of 2D pixel art viscera, limbs, detailed de-limbed heads and torsos, and intact or partially intact crying anime girl faces :gonk:

It's uh, quite a bit grosser than you might think even if you're used to the gore in other first person shooters. I can't speak to the rumors of whether the author copy pasted some other anime gore porn to make this game, but if they didn't, then that means they just drew their own original anime gore porn.

Hopefully this answers the question as to why it's surprising this got included in a Humble Bundle, and puts to lie NicheGamer's agenda and framing of it as "this is just evil harassment of creators because the SJWs want to censor their pure japanese vision!"

maybe for one second you can pause; try to step into another person's perspective, and understand that a watermelon is cursing me

honestly i'm more worried about the people who look at that game and go "you know, i'd play this if it weren't for the gore" than the ones who are playing it as is.

Oh bugger off, anime girls heads making faces on the giblets is nothing like Doom's stuff. The defense of Citadel inevitably becomes either "I steadfastly refuse to look at clearly rendered screenshots and see what's there" and/or "I'm so inured to anime that this is all unremarkable".

Nowhere did I defend the gore in my posts or tell people they are wrong in their opinions. If people get red flags from it then that's fine. I get it. I'm glad people are sharing their opinion and perspectives and I freely acknowledge that the niche gamers article sucks rear end for a whole host of reasons. Maybe the gore filter helps some folks because in my opinion there is a good game in there that is worth playing. People can disagree with me. I got super, super grossed out by that scene from the Resident Evil 3 remake but I'm not attacking people for liking that game or enjoying Resident Evil. Telling me to bugger off is pretty aggro for no reason
