I wanted Campbell but he didn’t even visit any team but the Falcons. He’s 37. Maybe he just wanted to be in Atlanta to close out his career. And if you’re a team in need of a DT is Campbell worth double what a guy like Poona Ford or Matt Ioannidis would get?

Fletcher Cox is better than all of them and at least from Connor’s account they gave Cox an offer they were lead to believe he’d accept but he didn’t want to leave Philly.

He farts around in mediocrity in NY for a couple years until he beats Shula and fucks off into the sunset. Meanwhile, the Patriots draft Caleb Williams with that pick and reclaim their rightful throne atop the AFCE for another 20 years under coach Jerod Mayo. Best news I heard all week. I never really thought they'd really go for him but hopefully this ends the white noise articles 7 win season here we come!

I am learning so many weird things from Mike Silver's 60 minute convo with Mike McDaniel. For one - one of Mike's best buddies is Dan Soder. They grew up together.

Last year was an unbelievable shitshow and would have gotten many, many coaches fired.

Breer seems pretty confident that the Rodgers deal is going to be 42 or 43 + a conditional pick next year. And that it’s definitely getting done before the Draft (maybe even this week). Cool. Hopefully we can stop with LEVERAGE discourse soon. https://twitter.com/albertbreer/status/1641422214053462018?s=46&t=OkX8QteY7RXBCBJCaXHbFg

It should be a 3 this year and like a 4 next year that becomes a 2 if they win the super bowl and that is even generous for the packers.

Yeah, I think the whole “the Packers have leverage!!” thing is idiotic, but both sides have very strong incentives to get a deal done. This was never going to be a trade where the Packers or Jets got fleeced and it was always going to be a pretty fair deal for meaningful draft capital. All the reporting right now reflects that.

Favre is the closets comp by far. Wilson and Watson had multiple teams interested and were a lot younger. Anything the Jets give the packers is pretty generous imo. They have zero other options.

Right, it’s a unique situation and you can’t really speak confidently about market value because this trade is going to establish that. But the closest relevant situations involved less compensation or the team just letting their old HoF QB walk for nothing.
