Seven Outis is our first instance of a character increasing Rupture Count outside of EGO Gifts in Mirror Dungeon, which will be fun to pair her with her two Seven buddies and other characters with Rupture (LobCorp Faust and G Corp Gregor, for one)

I'd like to see more gun stuff myself. And perhaps some Ammo support.

I have a hunch that we might see the Thumb show up if we go into Ryoshu's story so I could see it there.

For those wondering, the original Hong Lu post had several errors related to his first skill: On the English version it claimed to only have one coin, and on the Japanese version it only had one coin but the effect was somehow dealt by the second coin it didn't have.

Personally I am insanely excited for this, both in the general sense (the Liu Brothers are my absolute favorites alongside LCCB and Liu is probably my favorite PM factional aesthetic to begin with) and because that Support passive is probably going to be a treat backing up future Burn teams even if Hong Lu doesn't make the cut onto them... Which he might not once more Burn support lands, because as great as a spammable 2-coin skill can be I really wish he had a ludicrous big multi-hitter for his 3rd coin the way Gregor and Meursault do.

LCCB Ishmael’s skill 3 also has rupture count on it, the full string will usually end with the enemy having 3 count of 8 on them.

The problem with trying to roll ruptures is that literally any hit consumes a count, so unless you have a ton of count increasing skills and a lot of low hit count skills you’re just going to naturally consume it. It’s still uncomplicated free damage so it’s a good effect, I just see it being hard to focus around past ‘and these guys always do some extra damage’.

Patch notes are live for the impending update!

https://twitter.com/LimbusCompany_B/status/1642875401562374145

1- The new banner will be live!
2- Target banner for Heathcliff.
3- Auto-sweep implemented for Luxcavations. 2x cost for 1.5x rewards at 0x effort.
4- EGO Overclock! :D Spend 1.5x more resources for a Corrosion you can target freely, or go into Sin Debt for a wacky-as-usual Corrosion.
5- THE FIRST GREAT PASSIVE OVERHAUL

Some passives (both in and out of combat) are having their requirements lowered, and many passives (with some overlap) are switching to care about "how many Sin Resources do you have stored" instead of your current Resonance.

6- Corrosion no longer occurs on every single coin, but instead some of your coins at random, with the remainder getting replaced with dud no-action Panic Blocks.
7- The total swap method of how Sin Resistances update when you use EGO is getting put in, as previously discussed.
8- Bug Fixes! Included is a very notable one that seems to imply the SP modifier to coin flips was not as strong as intended.
9- More launch screen voice barks. :3:

Apparently slughtly nerfing corrosion, though with the manual one it's less necessary.

Um, so if I'm checking the math correctly, doing 3 sweeps of Thread excavation will give you the same amount of Thread and take the same amount of modules as 6 manual Thread Excavations? So auto-sweeping your first three Thread Excavations of the day will basically always be optimal?

Timewise, it seems like it but if you're still doing one EXP Luxcavation every day for the daily exp mission, then that's 14 modules (assume no exp sweep) you're spending which is more modules than what you can generate in a day so it's not really a sustainable practice as far as I can tell.

Might have screwed up my math somewhere though since I did it all in my head.

The 9 you get from sweeping the Level 30 version with the bonus active is exactly equal to the 6 you'd normally get for your bonus plus the 3 you'd get for using the extra Enkephalin modules on a non-bonus run. So it's not any more optimal than doing it manually, other than in terms of time spent. If you were going to do extra Thread runs anyways? Then yes, you're getting the same payouts on those first three as you'd get for doing 3 bonus and 3 regular, and it's break-even. It's not better in terms of payout at all, just equivalent.

Yeah, I was just mildly surprised that it does not end up being worse, Enkephalin wise, as doing it manually. I expected you would have a stamina tax for convenience, as regularly happen in gachas.

Cirina
Feb 15, 2013

Operation complete.
There is a stamina tax, you're spending 12 modules to get 27 thread, instead of 6 modules to get 18. It's only 'even' if you were going to do another three thread runs after the dailies, which is not at all a given.

So I've been playing for a few days and really do like Limbus, mostly for the writing and characters more than anything. I do gotta ask though, how do you go about actually teambuilding? Mostly I've just been trying to use characters with big clash numbers/coins that hit an enemies weakness, and have enough sin to power EGOs. I don't know how much I should be worrying about status effects, they mostly seem kinda inconsequential. Maybe it's the low numbers, but it doesn't seem to me like Poise 2 or Damage Up 1 actually make that much of a difference. Passives, too, seem kinda odd, given that they require certain sins to activate. Honestly I've been just not worrying about them and if they activate, hey, bonus. Game's been easy enough up to this point, I'm just worried I'll hit a wall where I'll have to actually understand how this all works. :v:

I think the meta rn is to build around EGOs since the only passives that really are useful are bleed or rupture and even then the fights are usually quick enough that you don't to worry too much about them. There's obv synergies like rodya's kurokumo identity's final skill can do a ton of damage if it's used against someone with a ton of bleed and the other kurukumo ids stack a ton of bleed (with ryoshu even being able to increase bleed counts) and of course the n corp identites all support each other pretty well especially by giving each other fanatic. Also regarding passives they are changing the requirements for a bunch of them to activate based on stocked up EGO resources instead of resonance so they should see more use! I think the team building is gonna lean towards strong clashing/EGO fueling since refraction railway is gonna make every fight play like an abno fight so you want to be able to mitigate damage with strong skills and EGOs like with headless fish.

Lurks With Wolves
Jan 14, 2013

At least I don't dance with them, right?
Passives will probably be in roughly the same place after the update as they are now: a reward for building a team around reliably getting certain colors. These changes are mostly about either making ones that are too expensive cost enough to fit into a reasonable amount of optimization (as opposed to the stupid amounts you need to activate something like One Who Grips Faust's passive) or do things that just feel bad when you need to make a fancy chain to activate them at all (see: stuff like W Corp Mersault's defensive passive or Liu Gregor's Ignition).

In any case, Kurokumo and N Corp are the only identity groups with enough depth on how they apply status effects to really gel into a team by themselves (although Liu's close to joining them), so it's usually just worth picking people based on some combination of how good they are at clashing and how good their moves are at building up their team members' EGOs. This usually means you end up making a team with multiple people from the same group, just because they tend to share colors and are able to pay for each other's current EGO colors, but still. (And Mirror Dungeon passives make it a lot easier to build around things like damage type or status effects, but you don't need me to tell you that.)

EDIT: And Don/Faust getting Charge EGOs means W Corp is kind of starting to gel into a team with synergies and not just three people with similar mechanics? Point is, more sets of identities are going to work as a team as the game develops.

Going through the list of passives changed, it would appear that passives that rely on Resonance to scale their effects will still require skills in chain to trigger, while passives with flat effects will instead rely on resources in reserve to trigger.

I asked about this earlier, but does Rodion's Kurokumo third skill require 6+ bleed count to work? It's phrased the same way as Hong Lu's second skill, which is awesome because it requires <4 bleed count.

If so, good luck triggering it.

I'm also curious about poise and if it does anything at all in fights where each sinner only gets one skill use per turn.

Blade Lineage Sinclair's Poise on his second skill does work in Abnormality fights, I had a CRITICAL or two pop up during my three Thread fights today. The Poise Count on the first skill is useless, though.
