it is one of the great problems of being in opposition that one always has to make a hundred cases to make one, and if one is not both incredibly concise and completely airtight in one's reasoning, one will simply be painted as a crank - assuming that one even gets an opportunity to speak.

This is an admittedly poor distillation, and leaves out some other interesting supporting details and criticisms.
