In 2002, he came in second to Blagojovich in the Democratic primary for governor. Just an all around loser that just keeps hanging around.

The bottom three were the "We the Parent" slate backed by Awake and Moms for America along with the local republican org. The Homer Township Republican Organization's village mayor, clerk and trustees all got trounced as did their library slate. The HTRO's organizers and elected officials are pretty insane and have pissed off a lot of the local Republicans, so it came down to a lot of infighting. And they pissed off a lot of people across the board last fall trying to sell off open space land. Traditional crappy suburban R's vs. ultra-MAGAs who were even calling people's employers to report on-the-clock FB posting to get people fired. Weirdly looks like WtP did take 2/3 of the Highschool district seats despite the typically more conservative feeder grade school districts rejecting WtP. Some McLean County news - The major issue today was a school tax referendum re-run. It lost 47-53 in November but the district got their messaging tight and decided for another go. It was big news here and pushed Normal IL to a 26% voting rate for a non-mayoral off-year election. The referendum passed today 59-41, a thorough massacre. With it, the four far right school board candidates got utterly wiped out. None even broke 10%. Their fear-mongering and opposition to the referendum doomed them. And because the school referendum was so polarizing and driving Democratic turnout, all the furthest right candidates for Town of Normal lost, including our very own local Trump-type far right council member, who has been spending his time getting into fist fights with reporters and disrupting meetings. I wouldn't say Normal has a progressive town council, now. Far from it. But it's the bluest we could have gotten this time around with the candidates we have. I'm relieved. Extremely relieved. It was a fantastic night here.
