I suspect champion powers will be replaced by champion companions. maybe you'll get a passive or active benefit from fighting alongside eg. Sidon

Night after night I sit atop the Ridgeland Tower, looking south towards Satori Montain, waiting for it to glow. It never glows. My only companion is that weird guy who likes bird men. I ignore him and wait. It never glows. Night after night. I'm sick of the rain. It never glows. Why does it not glow.

Huh, I just messed around with Switch BotW emulation in Yuzu, and it was actually running at a pretty steady 60fps/4k. Which is a bit confusing/surprising because I'm pretty sure it didn't in the past. The only difference I can think of is that I was using an updated Early Access Yuzu instead of the older stable build I used before (maybe 4-5 months ago), but it usually doesn't make a very big difference.

Crossing my fingers that it ends up being viable to do this for TotK. I still preordered the game to play handheld (on the TotK OLED I also preordered - finally had a good excuse to get the OLED version, which I can connect to the internet with since my other Switch is running homebrew stuff) + just to have the actual physical copy, but it'd also be super nice to be able to play it in 60fps on the big screen. It's really a crime that there's no "official" way to play such an insanely gorgeous game with better visuals. Hopefully in 5+ years we get a remaster on the Switch's successor or something.

I feel way worse for Mipha. With Paya she at least doesn't really know Link much and is just extremely into him due to him essentially being a celebrity to her.

One thing I like about Mipha is that she actually seemed serious about pursuing Link and was planning on effectively proposing to him. Usually that sort of character would just quietly pine for the protagonist and passively accept them ending up with the main love interest (obviously Zelda).

Unfortunately, it's also the case that Mipha is very sus due to initially meeting Link when Link was a child and she was presumably more or less the same-ish age due to slowed Zora aging. I guess you could argue that Mipha suddenly underwent her big growth spurt in the last ~10-15 years before the Calamity - IIRC that's how it works for Zora, they just suddenly go from looking like children to looking like adults. So maybe it's a little less weird if she was still in child-form when Link was also a child.

I feel like I'm the only person that really dislikes Mipha. Maybe it's because I don't want to gently caress a fish. Maybe it's the breathy voice acting. I just did not vibe with her character at all.

It should be based on whoever's weapon is moving fastest. If link fuses to a shield and holds it still, the enemy's weapon will be the one attacking and the cucco aggro attaches to the enemy. But if link shield bashes someone, the cucco aggro attaches to link.

There's a mask to find that can help out if you have the DLC for it, but otherwise they just tend to be in unusual places and/or the result of small puzzles left around.

Like if you find an out of place feature (say, a rock on top of a tree, or something chained to a stump), or if you see someplace notably tall you can climb, or you see some pattern with a piece out of place, you can generally find a korok.
Sometimes you just need to hear their tell-tale shaking sound because they're invisibly roaming the area. Metal doors lying in the middle of nowhere are also prime suspects.

You don't actually need all 900 unless you really want a useless trophy for it, but you do likely want roughly half if you want to max your inventory (it's 441).

Yeah I don't think I once ever got a Korok from jumping over little fences. Even now that I know that's one of them, I just don't notice it because I never trained my brain to see those as Korok puzzles.

Okay good. I just want to find enough so I can carry a bunch of weapons

Speaking of which, the game clearly expects me to have a hammer and an axe at all times for puzzles. What the heck happens if I lose the ones I have? I'm pretty sure I've only seen one hammer, period

This is not helped by the latest trailer convincing me even more that Demise and Hylia will be coming back this time around

You can find hammers and axes laying around stables or other settlements.

Bombs work just as good as axes for trees. Not as well for ore deposits since they can go flying off cliffs but you can.

the unlock requirements for inventory expansion are really generous at the start. i think you only really need like 20 total seeds to unlock enough slots to feel comfortable

you'll find your own balance between keeping powerful weapons and utility weapons. hammers are everywhere, but usually around stables, camps, etc. don't worry about axes, it's cute to cut down trees but it never comes up that often. focus on more unique effects, like elemental abilities

This feels pretty close to me, I think I usually ignore them after 25 or 30 seeds. Just a few weapon and shield slots feels like enough to get over aggravation at running low. After that point, I'll pointedly ignore anything that even looks like it might be a korok puzzle.

They’re lying around most of the towns and stables and will refresh during blood moons. If a specific shrine is going to have a lot of stasis puzzles they’ll generally have a chest or two with sledges as well (these are the only ones that can get modifiers). You’ll eventually get a camera rune and radar that makes it even easier to find specific tools.

I keep a torch for some reason, but I generally don’t waste slots on hammers unless I’m going after some of the stasis golf korok seeds. Axes are a complete waste once you’re out of traveler and rusty gear, though I do keep a few ancient axes around for guardian slaying.

If I’m harvesting lumber or ore it’s always with bombs to save durability anyway.

Not sure about the hammer/axe but the one you definitely need to keep is a torch, maybe a korok leaf(can't remember why).

Stables usually have a good amount of things to grab, and since they are all right next to a shrine you can easily stock up as needed.

Hammers are all over the place once you get to the hot rock/lava zone, but also you'd need heat potions or enough rupees to buy the heat protect armor set.
