My brother had blonde, smooth, straight hair as a baby (like my mother) and it darkened to jet black and wavy through elementary school. Then when he was 19 he got cancer and after chemo his hair grew back as baby hair that was super fine and red, then got very coarse and darkened to brown, where it stayed. It’s been a long time so now a good portion of his hair is grey. He’s had pretty much every hair color without ever dying his hair.
