I put lettuce tomato and mayonnaise in my grilled cheese by way of opening after grilling. it's more of a CLT than a grilled cheese at that point but drat it's good

I read doubtful at first, but I literally haven't used butter on a grilled sandwich since I first gave it a shot.

I had to make it stick to the bottom so I used a bit of olive oil and pressed it down.  It doesn't look too bad.   Verdict: I used some cheese on the inside to bind it. It doesn't taste that much different than usual, it just has a faint aftertaste of cheese cracker. I probably won't do this again. Don't try this unless you got a teflon coated sandwich press!
