I mean, the most military useful purpose of fuel air explosives is mine clearing, that’s still the main application. If the sappers were there, and of course they would be, they have to accompany the infantry in fortified areas, and they have all of those FAEs and no minefield to make lanes in, it seems like a decent way to get some use out of them.
