You can also game it with PHRs if you’re willing to put in some extra effort and gold. I’m likely to do that for large clam shells if I have no other option by the last day. I’m going to be about 100 short or so, so I only need one lucky PHR.

Remember that pets will each hold items up to your inventory cap, so stop collecting now and just grab a bunch of days' worth at once to save on food. I changed the setting for showing the 'your pets have items' banner to only show when it's going to be near my inventory cap (set it to your inventory cap * number of pets).

It's double each individual item your pet has collected, I'm only worried about doubling the Anglers which are around 25-26 when my pets hit max inventory so I'm getting 50-52 Anglers each time with a Crunchy.

Yeah I just realized a full pet inventory is only going to have about 1/12th your max inventory of any given item, so waiting for full pets is fine.
